History
Francis Edward Richmond Wollaston was an English immigrant who arrived in the Okanagan in the 1890s. He started work at the Coldstream Ranch in Vernon, B.C. in 1914, and held the position of manager of the Ranch from 1918 until 1939. While at Coldstream ranch, Wollaston received correspondence from his brother, A.F.R. Wollaston, who was a doctor, naturalist, explorer, and member of the Royal Geographical Society in London. Francis Wollaston passed away in Victoria B.C. in 1953.
