      History

      The Windermere Valley Museum, also known as the Windermere Valley Pioneer Museum, was established in the 1960s by the Windermere Valley Historical Society to acquire museum artifacts and archival records of the Windermere Valley. The museum moved to its present location in 1976.

      The holdings consist of documents, maps and photographs related to the history of the Windermere Valley and include subjects such as mining, farming, forestry and tourism. The largest collections are the Columbia Valley Irrigation Fruit Lands Ltd. records and the Basil Hamilton papers.
