Biographical history

William Richards served as a private in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in World War I. He worked as a merchant seaman aboard the Canadian Pacific Railway's SS Princess Maquinna from ca. 1933 to 1942.

The fonds consists of World War I paybook, correspondence, and certificates relating to seaman's service, wartime circulars from the Canadian Militia and King George, and certificate for use of the Western Fuel Corporation Employees X-ray machine, 1917.
