Biographical history

William Hailstone was one of the "Three Greenhorns" (William Hailstone, Sam Brighouse and John Morton) who were the first European settlers in what is now the west end of Vancouver. Hailstone returned to England at some time previous to 1894 and remained there until his death.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of two price lists and maps (1888) showing lots owned by William Hailstone and an indenture between the CPR and Hailstone dated 24 October 1894. The fonds also includes copies of the wills of William Hailstone and Catherine Hailstone (wife of William).
