    Custodial history

    Scope and content

The majority of the photographs were made during John's career as a photographer for Victoria Press, covering a wide variety of topics relating both to everyday life and to special events mainly in Victoria. They are arranged by subject, primarily in chronological order for envelopes 1 to 107 and in the order of their receipt thereafter. Negatives for images in envelopes 1 to 107 are arranged by strip numbers and stored separately from the remaining negatives, which are arranged by file number. The textual records consist of photocopied newspaper clippings of captioned photographs as published.
