    Biographical history

The earliest (and undated) copy of the Constitution of the Student Association of Trinity Junior College housed in the Archives states in its preamble that "The purpose of the Association shall be to honor the Lord in the conduct of student activities, to further student life, and to maintain maximum cooperation between students and administration." The preamble of an annotated draft copy of the Constitution of the Student Association of Trinity Western College, dated February 1975, reads, "The purpose of the Association shall be to honor the Lord in the conduct of student activities, and in the furtherance of student life and interest, and to maintain maximum cooperation between students and administration in furthering the goals and policies of the College." According to the Constitution of the Trinity Western University Student Association, Fall 1994, the purpose of the Student Association "... shall be to honour the Lord in the furtherance of student life and concerns and in the conduct of student activities, and to maintain cooperation between students and other members of the university community through furthering the goals and policies of the University." Further, "This Constitution shall contain general guidelines concerning the structure and operation of the Student Association and the Student Council. It shall be established by the authority vested in the Student Association by the Board of Governors and the Administration through the Administrative Committee." The first student body president was Dale Winder, of New Norway, Alberta. He was elected for the 1962/1963 academic year. See the first Pillar Yearbook (1963) for more information. The voting membership of TWUSA consists of all students enrolled at Trinity Western University; the Student Council, which is comprised of the Executive, Elected Representatives, Appointed Student Association Administration, and Senate, is the governing body of the Student Association. The Revised Bylaws of the Association (Draft, January 18, 2003), which are available online, provide detailed information regarding the following: I. Student Council Structure; II. Meetings; III. Student Council Members: Eligibility and Replacement; IV. Student Council Members: General Duties; V. Council Members: Specific Job Descriptions; VI. Election and Appointment Procedure; VII.
