Administrative history

The Snug Cove Improvement District was formally incorporated in 1985. The objects of the district are the collection and disposal of sewage and the acquisition, maintenance, and operation of the system. A number of committees are associated with SCID. They include: The Snug Cove Sewer Manangement Committee, which was formed to give Snug Cove business owners an opportunity to learn about and debate the merits of the Snug Cove sewer system controlled by SCID; the Snug Cove Planning Committee, which was formed by members of SCID to offer its membership a forum to learn about and debate the various points of the Bowen Island Official Community Plan; the Snug Cove Parking Committee, which was formed to address parking issues in the business area of SCID; and the Snug Cove Merchants Committee, which was formed to address and advocate for the commercial concerns of merchants based in the Snug Cove area.
