Biographical history

Rudolph Martin Grauer, preferring merchandising over the family farm, established Grauer's Store at Eburne in 1912. Between 1931 and 1949, Grauer held the position of Reeve in Richmond. He also served as a School Trustee. In addition to an active political and business life, Grauer was also an avid lacrosse player, was involved with the establishment of minor lacrosse in the Richmond area and was among the charter members of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The fonds consists of correspondence relating to Grauer's business and political life, reports relating to Grauer's involvement with the School Board teacher negotiations of 1948, pamphlets and other ephemera, and photographs reflecting Grauer's interest in lacrosse.
