History

Founded in 1975 by four women calling themselves the Growing Room Collective, Room of Ones Own is a Vancouver-based Canadian literary quarterly produced by and for women. It is published by the West Coast Feminist Literary Magazine Society. The name is taken from and essay by Virginia Woolf. In 2007 the magazines name was shortened to simply Room.
