    Biographical history

    William D'Oyly Rochfort was an architect who was born in 1884, the son of Captain D'Oyly T. and Constance Rochfort. He came to B.C. in 1904 and began his work as an architect. In 1910, he married Eiglenna E. "Glen" Switzer the daughter of John William and Margaret Katherine (nee Wilson) Switzer. In 1912 William and Glen had a son Pat. Throughout this period Glen worked as an actress on the local stage. About 1923, the couple moved to England and in 1937, William and Glen divorced. William died in 1943. Glen died in 1975 in London, England. Tullock D'Oyly Rochfort was the brother of William. In 1916 he married the local actress Phyllis Davis.

    The fonds consists of family photographs, correspondence, newspaper clippings, theatre programmes, certificates, miscellaneous textual records and artifacts. The majority of the records were created by Glen E. Rochfort with a lesser amount created by Phyllis Rochfort.
