Administrative history
Presbyterian services began in the Riverview area in the early 1900s. Riverview United Church, formerly Riverview Presbyterian Church opened as a Mission Station in 1911. It was organized as a congregation, led by a divinity student, Nelson Graham, from May 1, 1911 to April 1, 1913, in a little store at the corner of Fraser and Marine. Riverview Presbyterian Church opened in February 1914, in an old school house, and its first pastor was Rev. R. G. MacKay. In 1922, the needs of the growing congregation meant that Riverview Hall was built, and used until 1956. The congregation became Riverview United Church in 1925, at the time of Church Union.
