    Biographical history

The Reg Stone rink won seven provincial curling championships. Although they never won the MacDonald's Brier, they finished second in 1949. Reg was a member of a team skipped by his brother Roy, who won six B.C. Senior Championships. Reg was born in Vancouver and came to Trail in 1939. For eight years he was Professional and Greenskeeper at the Rossland-Trail Golf Club. During the winters he was Manager of the Old Trail Rink. In 1949 Reg gave up his job at the Rossland-Trail Country Club to become Superintendent for the Trail-Tadanac Parks and Recreation Commission and stayed until his retirement in 1974. He was elected to the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1974, and to the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 1984. Reg Stone died in 1997.
