History

The North Vancouver Museum and Archives has been in operation since 1971. It was an agency solely of the City of North Vancouver until 1996, when the District of North Vancouver joined the City as an equal partner in the funding and operation of the NVMA. It is governed by a Commission with representation from both municipalities. The Museum and Archives shared space at Presentation House in the City of North Vancouver until May 2006, when the Archives moved to its present location at Lynn Valley in the District of North Vancouver.
