        William Henry Leary (1833-1918), his wife Sarah Ann Godkin (1831-1915) and their four children, William J. (1864-1941), Alfred R. (1865-1945), David E. (1874-1938), and Alice, moved from Ontario to Manitoba (to join William's brothers) then to Ladner B.C. in the 1890s. William and his sons worked in and managed canneries in Ladner and up the Northern coast. William J. also farmed, later moving to Merritt B.C. A.R.Leary lived his whole life in Ladner. He married Margaret Watson (1873-1945) and had four sons and four daughters. One of his daughters, Violet, married James Scott, the parents of Gordon Scott. David married Annie Otts (1873-1961), a widow with one daughter Frances, and they had one daughter Mabel, who married James MacNamara.
