Greenwell and John B.Greenwell; information circulars from the Workmen's Compensation Board, the Unemployment Insurance Commission and the New Vancouver Coal Mining and Land Company; Thomas Aitken's Sick and Accident fund passbook from the Western Fuel Corporation; Certificates of Competency for Thomas and Isaac Aitken; copies of the Constitution of the International Union of the United Mine Worker's of America, the Wage Agreement between Canadian Collieries and UMWA, District No. 18 and a copy of the I.C.S.               Fonds consists primarily of photographs depicting scenes from the British Columbia salmon fishing and canning industry. Included are images of fishing vessels, fish canneries (including Phoenix Cannery and Wadham's Cannery) and fishing activities, and photographs of cannery production line workers and technology. Also included is a small amount of textual records related to the business interests of the Bell-Irving family, and a notebook containing the minutes of the Nanoose Coal Syndicate, meetings of which were held for a time in the offices of H. Bell-Irving & Co., Ltd. Records are arranged in three series: 1. Photographs; 2. Nanoose Coal Syndicate minutes; 3. McBean Bell-Irving Trust accounts.

Photographs include views of a mine rescue team, Radford at a conference in Turkey, a United Mine Workers of America Convention in Calgary, a strike at Imperial Laundry in Nanaimo, and Ladysmith miners. Certificates include a Certificate of Competency (1927) and a receipt for a certificate from the Granby Mine (1928).

These include correspondence from Head Office in Vancouver on a wide range of management issues such as accidents, union, legal affairs and finances; personnel maters including appointments, health and safety; administration of the camps at Caycuse(Camp 6) and Nitinat(Camp 3); maintaining equipment and transportation links; and management logging operations. The fonds includes a series of maps and plans documenting the camps, logging activity, railway and road surveys and forest cover.
