Biographical history

Herbert Thomas (H.T.) Kirk was born in London, England in 1868. In 1874 he and his parents arrived in Canada and settled on Winnipeg. He arrived in New Westminster in 1889 and worked for T.J Trapp in his hardware store. Later he went into business for himself and opened a hardware store in New Westminster which he operated until his retirement in 1926. In 1894 he married Mary Jane Warren. the couple had two daughters, Dora and Elsie.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of photographs and postcards, and a small quantity of other material, including cards, and newspaper clippings. Most of the photographs are of the Kirk family and friends.
