    Biographical history

    The Kingfisher Community Club was officially incorporated as a society on December 8, 1949. The five founding members were Russell Large, Nathaniel "Ed" Tipton, Wilfred Simard, Agnes Abbey, and Martha Chantler. Its purpose was:;1) to acquire land and build a Community hall and recreational centre, and;2) to foster and promote sporting, recreational, charitable, educational and social activities.;The area serviced incorporated what was known as Kingfisher School District, along the Enderby/Mabel Lake Road from the Halfway to Mabel Lake east of Enderby, B.C. The business of the society is managed by an elected Board of Directors. They operate and maintain the Kingfisher Community Club, organize events in the community, and act as the parent body to community organizations.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of records kept by members of the Kingfisher Community Club. Includes minutes, reports, financial records, publications, photographs, correspondence, constitution, and certificate of incorporation. Also includes records of subsidiaries including the Kingfisher Women's Auxiliary and Kingfisher Outdoor Club.
