The King Studio was established in 1903 in Vancouver by Howard King. While it became known as a portrait studio, King and his successors, Valentine and Blanche Vinson, Mrs. Candlish and Mssrs. Aird, Bing and Hodgskiss were also involved in industrial photography. The King Studio included amongs its clients the Dominion Experimental Farm, the Hudson's Bay Company, Spencer's, Henry Birks and Sons, the Anglo-Canadian Shipping Company, and the architectural firm of Townley and Matheson.
