The fonds consists of workbooks and other papers (1929-1942) including those relating to work on the vessels William J. Stewart, Motor Princess, and HMCS Nootka. Fonds also includes alphabetical list of jobs done 1932-1946, estimate workbooks covering years 1914-1944; documents and estimates relating to HMCS Nootka, 1938; blueprint of Esquimalt Harbour (Constance Cove), ca. 1915; and specification sheets. Fonds includes plans for naval vessels (Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy), steamers, cruise ships, ferries, barges, lifeboats, and tankers. Fonds includes photographs of Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy ships, Yarrows displays and float, visits to the Yard by dignitaries, and designs for certain parts of vessels.

The collection consists of ship's plans predominantly of vessels on the West Coast of Canada, including ships constructed and repaired at shipyards of Yarrows Limited (Esquimalt, B.C.) and the Victoria Machinery Depot. Many of the plans were received from these two firms. The collection includes plans of Canadian Pacific Princess and Empress ships.

The fonds consists of photographs of salvage operations (1906-1910) carried out by the Bullen Dockyard (B.C. Marine Railway Company), of the first vessels salvaged by Yarrows Limited, of other ships and salvage vessels, of Admiral Sir John E. Commerell, and of the SS Princess Louise on the Fraser River (1899).

The fonds consists of log book of W.J.S. Pullen on the HMS Falcon (1855) and Cyclops (1856-57), with an extract from the Master Attendant and Conservator of the Port [Bombay] to the Commissioner of Salt and Opium (1860). Fonds includes photographs of HM ships, whalers, St.Paul's Church (Esquimalt, B.C.), and fishing boats at Masset, B.C. Fonds also includes an oil painting of W.J.S. Pullen, partial plans for HMS North Star, Porcupine and Termagant, "The Pullen Records" (transcriptions of historical records concerning W.J.S. Pullen and T.C. Pullen in their expeditions to the Arctic) and ephemera, including a typed history of the SS Beaver.
