Davie family fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence relating to Murray Davie's agricultural activities, and copies of records of the Delta Agricultural Society and Delta Co-Operative Breeders Society shares book (1929). The fonds contains photographs of Davie and Savage family members in portraits and participating in farm and community activities, as well as photographs of farms, barns, prize animals, and local scenes.

Textual records include a letter from Thomas Gunn to his uncle Hugh Gunn, and a letter by F.J. Brandrith.

Trevitt family fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence, clippings, World War II memorabilia, marriage and baptismal certificates, financial records, and genealogical notes belonging to members of the Trevitt and Gillanders families. The fonds also consists of correspondence related to the establishment of the Trevitt marina at Deas Slough, and minutes (1975-1977), financial records and correspondence of the Delta Historical and Museum Society. The fonds consists of John Muir's legal and business papers, and correspondence, particularly related to renting the Deloraine properties; legal papers and correspondence regarding the probate of John Muir's Estate, particularly between lawyers and Agnes Muir, his daughter; and letters to Agnes from family members. The fonds also includes a collection of papers and memorabilia belonging to Eva Muir, including a collection of songbooks and song sheets. Records that Eva accumulated as an officer in the Ladner Dugout Committee and Red Cross Society are described in these respective fonds. Ernie Taylor fonds

The fonds consists of personal papers related to Ernie Taylor's service in WWII; a history of and records related to the RCAF Station at Boundary Bay; research notes, field books and reports related to his BA and MA theses; reports and notes related to his employment with Canadian Wildlife Service; and photographs of Delta residents and landscapes. The fonds includes Taylor's B.A. Thesis "Winter Food Habits of the Ring Necked Pheasant in the Lower Fraser Valley", his M.A. Thesis "A Study on the Factors Affecting the Reproduction and Survival of the Ring Necked Pheasant in the Lower Fraser Valley", and a review for CWS titled "Wildlife and Recreation in Boundary Bay".

Bertha Reynolds fonds

The fonds consists of photographs and records of Bertha Reynold's family and her activities as teacher, secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, and historian for the Delta Museum Society. The fonds contains Delta Pioneer Record Sheets for 93 families in Delta, B.C. They list the names of Delta families and their members. Information includes: dates of births, location of birth, date of marriages, location of marriage, date of burial, location of burial, grandchildren, and reminiscences. Also included are newspaper articles containing additional information on some of the families, and photographs of family and street scenes, mostly in Delta. The fonds also contains miscellaneous records of Ladner families and a notebook of newspaper clippings of the Delta Board of Trade (1934-36). Family activities on the farm are documented in photographs. The fonds also consists of six notebooks containing minutes, clippings and literature pertaining to the British and Foreign Bible Society from 1936-1977.

Dennison family fonds

Fonds consists of photographs, an essay entitled "Memoirs of a Ladner Lad" written by William James Dennison, and a family tree prepared by Bill Dennison. The fonds also includes three ledgers from the Ladner Shoe Store. The photographs document many aspects of the Dennison's family life in Delta such as potato farming, gardening and a variety of social activities.

This fonds consists of records collected by Terry Brennan in his efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of Delta, particularly the lives of the pioneering families. Consequently, the records accumulated by Mr. Brennan represent several families, and activities, which contributed to the development of Delta. Three series have been identified according to types of creators -- Private Records and Municipal Records -- and by media -- Photographs and other graphic material. Private records include both business records (British America Cannery), and personal papers (T.E. Ladner, Terry Brennan). Municipal Records include marriage and court records.

The fonds consists largely of correspondence and financial records that pertain to Thomas Ladner's business ventures in salmon canning and farming. Thomas Ladner's correspondence April 28, 1892 to November 11, 1896 (of which this archives holds photocopies) is made up of letters sent to Robert Paterson Rithet, Ladner's agent and business partner in the Victoria Canning Co. Ltd. The financial records largely concern Thomas' farming operation, of which the ledger of 1919-1924 provides the most complete documentation. Also included in the fonds are historical notes written by Leon Ladner and Yvonne Killam about the Thomas Ladner family, and photographs of Thomas Ladner, his immediate family and descendants, his farm, and Ladner family friends and activities.

Philip S. Quelch fonds

The fonds consists of black and white copy prints of personnel, equipment and operations at the Ladner Lumber Mill, their outfit and the Savage's outfit. Also contains photographs of Philip Quelch and friends at leisure, many group photos, photographs of Ladner buildings, the ferry, Ladner's Landing, the Ladner War Memorial, and the dance hall at Point Roberts.

Textual records consist of legal records belonging to A.R. Leary including land deeds, mortgage papers, and fire insurance policies. The fonds also includes British Columbia history and geography textbooks, newspaper clippings, a June 3, 1948 issue of the Ladner Optimist, school certificates, a short history of Vancouver, May Day raffle tickets, rules and regulations of the Grand Black Chapter of Ireland, programs, receipts, notebooks, correspondence, etc. It also contains genealogical notes on the Leary family compiled by Mabel MacNamara and Laura Miller. The fonds includes photographs of men during the gold rush, Knickerbocker's Barber Shop, schools and students, Ladner Ferry, World War I tanks, logging, canneries, ferries, etc. as well as photographs of various members of the Leary family.

John Christopherson fonds

The fonds consists of records relating to the functions and activities of John Christopherson, the manager of B.C. Packers Limited oyster operation on Boundary Bay in Delta. The records mainly deal with oyster operations at Boundary Bay and Pendrell Sound, and include daily work diaries, correspondence, invoices, cost estimates, time sheets, boat log books, inventories, newspaper clippings and other reference material. The fonds includes photographs that detail the operations of the Boundary Bay oyster plant. The fonds also includes personal records that belong to John and Grace Christopherson, including correspondence, a travel diary, and memorabilia that relate to their social activities in Delta. Jessie Reagh Belcher fonds

Fonds consists of textual and photographic material related to the Reagh family. The textual material consists of two papers regarding genealogical research conducted on Jessie Belcher's family. The first is entitled "The Wassell Family", was written by Wassell Randolph, with a forward added by Jessie Belcher, as well as a page indicating references to her mother's family. The second, which investigates the life of Elizabeth Wedgwood Hawksworth, Jessie Belcher's great-great-great paternal grandmother, was written by Mrs. Belcher herself and is entitled "Who Are You?". Another manuscript entitled "Reflection of Delta Central School" records Mrs. Belcher's memories of Delta Central School and includes anecdotes about teachers, classmates, and school activities. Mrs. Belcher attended the school in the 1930s. The textual records also contain advertising material including monthly calendars from Fisher's Drug And Book Store (1923), envelopes from Ladner United Sunday School, Mc & Mc Department Stores, the Ladner Studio, and a greeting card from Home Oil Distributors Limited. Another file contains greeting cards, an invitation to the opening of the No. 18 Elementary Flying Training School, Boundary Bay, and a name tag for a Graduate Dance for the Air Force, which Jessie Reagh attended in 1941. The tag is "part of wing of plane which cracked up on Sea Island." The file also contains a "Coronation 1937", a booklet prepared by the Department of Education and presented to elementary and high school children in the province. Jessie Reagh wrote an inscription in the centre of the booklet which includes the names of her teachers and classmates. Also included in the textual material are two books, "The New Canadian Hymnal" (1922), and the "Canadian Reader" (1931). The photographs include seven black and white photographs related to the Reagh family.

The fonds consists of an accounts journal and seventeen daily journals kept by John Honeyman (1845-1926) and his son Douglas Ramsey Honeyman (1886-1968) from 1883 to 1944, which describe farming the Honeyman family farm at Eden, Manitoba, from 1883 to 1895, the farm at Gulfside near Port Guichon from 1896 to 1902, and the East Delta farm from 1903 to 1914 and 1920 to 1944. Entries from 1883 to about 1905 were made by John Honeyman, and from 1906 to 1944 by Douglas Honeyman. John Honeyman's daily entries are more detailed than those made by Douglas and record farm work and family activities, especially those of the Honeyman children. The journals describe visits with family and neighbors, trips to New Westminster and Vancouver, weather observations, illness, entertainment and social activities. Entries about farm work record seasonal activities for tilling, planting and harvesting grains and potatoes; raising livestock; improving and building farm buildings, fences, etc.; and employing workers such as East Indians and Chinese and their wages. Entries also refer to community political events and frictions, and to work done on shared community infrastructure such as dykes, drainage ditches and roads.

The Bell family fonds is arranged in three sous-fonds: Edith Bell sous-fonds, Edward Bell sous-fonds, and Harry Bell sous-fonds. Edith Bell's records include diaries, scrapbooks and photographs of family and community events as well as records pertaining to her membership in various organizations including the Imperial Order Daughter of the Empire. Edward Bell's records consist of business papers, particularly land records and wills. Harry Bell's records are personal records related to the Bell family. Through photographs, cartographic material, and textual records, the records document not only the Bell family, but much of the community of Delta. Edith Bell's records provide insight into Delta social affairs and families, while Edward Bell's business records reveal economic and social change as it is documented in land transactions.
