Fonds consists of multimedia materials created by Brauer as a result of her Survivors Today project, which documented the lives of Holocaust and Hiroshima survivors after the war and documented attendees at the Canadian Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and their Children held in Ottawa from April 28–30, 1985. Materials in fonds include audio cassette tape recordings of one-on-one interviews with survivors and one tape of four survivors speaking at a symposium on the Holocaust. Assorted textual materials include manuscripts, correspondence, biographies, transcripts of interviews, book proposals, publications, financial records and a matted display panel. Lastly, photographic materials in the fonds consist of negatives, contact sheets and prints produced by Brauer.

The Survivors Today project aimed to honour survivors’ recollections of sorrow while also expressing their hopes and triumphs in their new lives. Interviews focus on how survivors came to Canada, their adjustments and contributions to life in Canada, and their perceptions of Canadian society. Other topics covered include Judaism and faith, Israel, Europe, nuclear weapons and global peace.

The fonds consists of textual records and other media created by Harry and Valerie Jerome, which reflect the various facets of Harry Jerome’s life, including academics, athletics, and community and national sports initiatives. While most of the records reflect Harry’s life, the fonds also includes records that pertain to Valerie Jerome’s life and her own athletic career, such as newspaper clippings. In addition, a biographical manuscript, which is Valerie Jerome’s written iteration of the story of the Jerome family and Harry’s life, is included in the fonds. The fonds also includes records that were created by the Harry Jerome Commemorative Society and the Black Business and Professional Association’s Harry Jerome Awards. In order to respect the multiple creators and the overall nature of the records, the fonds has been arranged into the following six series: Harry Jerome records (1958-1982); the Valerie Jerome records (1887-[2005]); Harry Jerome Award programs (1986-1998); the Harry Jerome Commemorative Society records (1982-2001); photographs (1919-[2005]); newspaper clippings (1946-2010). The series are contained in eight boxes.

Collection consists primarily of records generated or used during the period of the Second World War by the Vilcsek family in Budapest, Hungary. This fonds consists of photographs and postcards taken or collected by J. Lewis Sangster during his time spent in New Westminster, during his time traveling and during his time spent overseas during World War I. Sangster developed a large number of the photographs himself, in a small cellar in his home that was converted into a darkroom. The fonds has been divided into three series based on content: Sangster Family, Military, and New Westminster Subjects. Included in the Military series, there is a collection of Canadian Official postcards published by the British newspaper The Daily Mirror, which Sangster collected during his time serving in World War I. The family series consists of photographs taken by Sangster of his family members, as well as pictures that Sangster received from extended family members.
