The Committee's role is to advise Council on those matters coming within the scope of the Heritage Conservation Act (RSBC 1979, c. 165) which are from time to time referred to it by Council, and to make recommendations to Council respecting the designation of heritage buildings, structures and lands, and the preservation, alteration, renovation or demolition of heritage buildings, structures or lands. Included also are plans describing the location of the works to be done, the length of time it is expected to last, the cost to the City, and the owners of the relevant properties. See bylaw 343.
