The fonds consists of articles, newspaper clippings and miscellaneous historical manuscripts about Tamboline family members and other people and events in the Ladner area. One series of clippings is organized in four scrapbooks. The fonds also includes photographs of family members and friends, and homes and activities of the Tamboline family.

The fonds consists of records created and collected by Harry B. Hawthorn in a number of different capacities: as researcher, professor, Dean of Anthropology and Director of the Museum of Anthropology. Textual records in the fonds include correspondence, transcripts, research notes and clippings from publications. Much of the graphic materials relate to Harry Hawthorn’s interactions with aboriginal communities as an anthropologist, a professor, and as the Director of MOA. Other images relate to his personal life, documenting his youth in New Zealand, his life as a father and anthropologist, and his later established professional roles.

Fonds consists of vital records, administrative documents, trade certificates, travel papers, correspondence, letters of reference, liturgical materials, and photographs relating to the lives of members of the Gottfried family and the families of Gerda and Lori Gottfried's husbands (the Kraus and Seemann families, respectively). Records detail the vital statistics, career history, educational attainment, travels and emigration efforts of the family from the early twentieth century until the beginning of the twenty-first century. Fonds has been arranged into the following series: Vienna ([189-]–1939), Shanghai (1939–1949), Emigration (1947–1950), Vancouver (1949–2000), Photographs ([191-]–[197-]).

Fonds consists of an album given to Mary Tucker by her grandfather who had received it in the early 1900s as a gift from the Japanese Diet. The album consists of a series of hand-tinted silk screen reproductions depicting a variety of Japanese scenes and landmarks. Each individual silk screen is labeled with the subject of the image. The covers of the album are black lacquer with a floral image in gold on the back cover and a scene in relief of a woman and a boy sweeping on the front cover.

Collection is comprised of original photographs and photo postcards of Shoshana Fidelman’s grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts and siblings, none of whom survived the Holocaust. Photographs were taken in Poland prior to the Second World War and mailed by Shoshana Fidelman’s family living in Starachowice-Wierzbnik and Bodzentyn to family members in Canada and Israel.

The collection consists of eight photographs likely taken in the Nuu-chah-nulth community in the 1920's. Some of the photographs may have been taken by Catherine, the daughter of an early Indian Agent named Augustus Cox. They include a number of images that appear to be a Samiilth or Saatlsaach ceremony, with K'aanaatla mimicking wolves. Some of these images are taken near a seaside village, which shows various types of structures and canoes. Other images taken on a beach show canoe runs, as well as two images of individuals in robes and headdresses. Another image shows a detailed view of two headdresses. There are also images of what seem to be preparations for a parade, with individuals dressed in costumes and decorated motorcars nearby.

Fonds is comprised of family photographs, correspondence to Ruth and Leopold Hollander from relatives living in the Warsaw ghetto, travel and identification documents, research, testimony and other materials pertaining to the history of the Hollander family as Jewish refugees who fled Poland as a result of antisemitic persecution, laboured in a Siberian camp and immigrated to Africa and Canada.

Fonds has been arranged into the following four series: Photographs [192-]–[193-], Correspondence from the Warsaw ghetto (1940–1941), Travel and identification documents (1947–1978) and Family history records ([198-]–2019).

The photographs depict the mill site as well as social gatherings of Fraser Mills employees (dinners and golf tournaments). The collection also includes two advertising posters produced by the Canadian Western Lumber Company Limited and Crown Zellerbach. Finally, the collection includes a Crown Zellerbach patch/label and 6 sets of construction plans for wooden boats that would have been produced using wood sourced from Fraser Mills.

Malcolm Lowry collection

The collection consists of a three vol. set of Shakespeare's Works (J. Payne Collier, Lupton Pub. New York, n.d.) which Malcolm Lowry has used as notebooks, as well as for annotations on the texts themselves. These volumes, given by Lowry to his friend George Stevenson, were used as a resource by Lowry, especially during the composition of Under the Volcano. The volumes include poems and jottings by Lowry on fly leaves and paste-downs and on p. 944. In addition, textual annotations by Lowry occur most heavily in The Tempest, Merchant of Venice, Timon of Athens and, to a lesser extent, The Sonnets.

Records include correspondence, identification, permits, licenses, certificates, legal documents and clippings.

Collection is comprised of Nazi-era printed ephemera, photographs and a Hitler Youth dagger collected by Royal Canadian Engineer Robert Brown, who served in the Second World War.
