Includes fishery record ledgers of license holders (1911 - 1912) in the Skeena River District listed by cannery (Balmoral, Claxton, Oceanic, British America, Inverness, Carlise, North Pacific, Cunningham, Dominion, Cassiar, Skeena River Commerical, Alexandria) and includes court cases and cash receipts. The 1908 court records lists convicting judges C.J. South , George B. Baillie, J.T. Williams, and E. Lorenz. Includes a letter book (January 1908 to July 1916) which contains outgoing correspondence concerning police and fishery reports, correspondence to government agents William Manson and J.H. McMullin, chief constables William H. Vickers, T.G. Wynn, W. Owen, and Ernest Gammon, reports to the Commissioner of Fisheries in Victoria by Provincial Fishery Overseers constables Alexander Forsyth and Kenneth F. Birchall, letters to Indian Agents Charles Clifton Perry in Metlakatla, and letters by George A. Shade, Deputy Mining Recorder. Also includes Lett's 1908 Indian & Colonial Almanac with reports, correspondence, and wanted criminals, and includes a police day book at the back. Names of constables include: C. Cullen, G. The fonds consists of the records of David H. Flaherty created throughout his professional and private life. They include project research files relating to his work with Canadian and international privacy issues during his time at the University of Western Ontario from 1972 to 1987; teaching and lecture files on early American history, and American and Canadian legal and constitutional history from his time at Princeton, the University of Virginia and the University of Western Ontario from 1963 to 1991; and his personal files including diaries, correspondence, photographs and subject files from 1949 to 2005, including those from his time as the Information and Privacy Commissioner of British Columbia. Within each series, the files are arranged roughly by date. The personal files have been divided by Flaherty into open and restricted files.

The Debby Yaffe interview was conducted by Joy Fisher as a research project in the course History 358A, “Women in Canada,” taught by Dr. Lynne Marks, which covered histories of women in Canada from the era of New France to the present. Fisher’s resulting essay is entitled “Riding the Wave/ Watching the Wave: A Second Wave Feminist Talks about Gender Ideologies and her Life.”

The records in this research collection were created and received by three separate juridical entities carrying out three different administrative functions. Firstly, the research collection includes records created and received by the crew of the St. Roch and other members of the RCMP and its governing body during the ships active existence. Secondly, the collection includes records that were created and received by the Vancouver Maritime Museum regarding the restoration and ongoing preservation and display of the ship. The collection also includes the records created and received by Parks Canada pertaining to the time during which that organization was responsible for the care and display of the ship. Finally this collection includes records relating to the fundraising voyage of the RCMP vessel the Nadon, during the period in which in was renamed the St. Roch II, as well as the records of the ice breaker the Simon Fraser which accompanied the Nadon on this voyage.;The records relate to the building of the St. Roch, the activities carried out by its crew members during its active career, the retirement of the St. Roch to Vancouver, the construction of the A-frame shelter, the preservation of the ship, exhibition of the ship and related items, as well as records created through research to support these curatorial activities. The fonds consists of a 2-page manuscript "A Brief History of the B.C. Provincial Police", a daily journal (1899-1907) for an unidentified detachment of the British Columbia Provincial Police compiled by Otway Wilkie and describing police activities in the Fraser Valley, a journal (1937) compiled by Constable S.M. Millar of the Barkerville Detachment describing police activities in the Barkerville and Wells area, and a daily journal (1906-1911) of the New Westminster office, blank BCPP stationery, 2 copies of the BCPP Regulations (1924, 1937), and 2 issues of the "Shoulder Strap", the BCPP journal. Fonds also consists of detailed records of the BCPP's Langley, B.C. Police Department, primarily compiled by Police Chiefs Robert Macklin and C.Y. Robertson, including ledgers containing records of cases and dispositions (1924-1927, 1934, 1939-1942), Provincial Police Court records (1912, 1924-1925, 1942-1954), semi-annual reports to the Langley Board of Police Commissioners (1925, 1937-1939), minutes of the Langley Board of Police Commissioners (1912-1938), a 1935 citation for a medal awarded to R. Macklin by His Majesty the King, and a 1932 petition to the Police Commissioners of the Municipality of Langley requesting reconsideration in the matter of the Police Chief.

The fonds consists of sixteen series: university employment; 1977-1996; university teaching, 1974-1988; grant applications, 1980-1995; publications, 1975-1997; conference papers, 1978-1991; presentations, 1980-1997; unpublished papers, 1975-1995; Gertrude Richardson research, 1985-1996; Leicester Peace Society research, 1992-1993; women's movement, 1983-1996; peace movement, 1986-1997; miscellaneous correspondence, 1979-1998; family correspondence, 1987-1997; illness and death, 1998; photographs, 1986-1993, and Canadian women peace activists oral history interviews, 1987-1989. The university employment series includes curricula vitae, job applications, and self evaluation files which document Roberts employment history and her publications and committee work, etc. The university teaching series includes course outlines, take home exams, and student handouts which shed light on her approach to teaching. The grant applications and publications series together provide an overview of the range and direction of Roberts' research interests. While most of the series are based on record type, the Gertrude Richardson research and Leicester Peace Society Research series are arranged by subject and contain correspondence and grant applications; the Gertrude Richardson Research series also contains conference papers. The Women's movement and Peace movement series both contain correspondence, although some correspondence pertaining to them will be found in the miscellaneous and family correspondence series. While the miscellaneous and family correspondence series consist almost entirely of inward correspondence, both contain a few printouts of e-mail correspondence or letters from Roberts which shed light on her daily life and research projects. The Canadian Women Peace Activists series contains interviews about and with Canadian women who were peace activists before 1960.
