Wade family fonds

The fonds consists of private and official correspondence, photographs and maps, and a large number of published items and clippings. There are papers concerning the Yukon (1893-1959) and Dawson (1879-1902), the Alaska Boundary case (1902-1956), the Canadian flag controversy (1907-1912), juvenile offenders and their protection (1894-1917), research for the federal case re: Point Grey Military Reserve (1911-1918), Vancouver municipal and public affairs (1912-1927), and miscellaneous papers (1887-1960). Published items include works by Wade as well as publications of the Canadian Club, government publications and political tracts. There are also two bound volumes, one containing correspondence, programmes and clippings re: General Wolfe and the dedication of the Canadian Memorial to Wolfe at Greenwich Park, the other containing photographs and prints of various portraits and statues of Wolfe.

The collection consists of telegrams and letters from Walter Moberly to Margery Wade and Norton Griffiths concerning personal matters, the New Westminster fire (1898), and railway development; Wilfrid Laurier to F. C. Wade concerning Liberal politics; Noel Robinson to F. C. Wade concerning Moberly. Fonds includes cartoon drawings by John Innis and James B. Fitzmaurice depicting provincial political figures and issues such as prohibition.
