The collection consists of scrapbooks of newspaper articles relating to local history. The majority of articles were written by Jim Nesbitt. There is an index to each scrapbook volume.

Includes an 1873 arbitration award granted to William Curtis Ward pertaining to his ownership of land in the area. The inventory itself is dated 1954.

These papers document Miss Bruce's career as a writer for the Victoria Daily Times and the Daily Colonist, especially in her role as music and theatre critic, her extensive travels, social activities, family relations and her work in organizations such as the Women's Institute. A small portion of the fonds consists of the records of Ethel Bruce's sister, Maude Bruce, primarily correspondence inward.
