Frank Hann fonds

The fonds consists of photocopies of Hann's autobiography, reminiscences of Alberta and B.C., newspaper and magazine clippings (1910-1940), three unidentified letters (one dated 1930), and maps of Southeast England, Ontario (1912), Spain and Portugal. Scrapbooks in the collection contain clippings, printed material and correspondence on various topics. The fonds also includes photographs of classical art and architecture, buildings and monuments.

Records of the SCOC include minutes and some records pertaining to its bargaining agent, regulatory, and fishing development and protection activities. Records of the FABC include minutes, correspondence, financial and other administrative records, as well as material pertaining to its various functions. This includes records pertaining to its public relations activities, and its roles as an industry bargaining agency, as an industry representative on international treaties and fisheries commissions, and as a liaison and lobby group with the federal, provincial and municipal governments on issues such as resource protection and government safety and health regulations. FCBC records relate to its pursuance of matters related to the West Coast fishing industry, including records concerning its participation in various federal and provincial meetings, issues related to the native fishery, and minutes of various committees through which the FCBC conducted its affairs.

F.H. Holderness fonds

The fonds consists of Holderness' manuscript diary and expense account of a business trip to Canada and the United States in connection with the timber trade in 1837. He took particular note of his means of transport, which included steamer, railroads, schooners, canal boats, stage coaches, wagons, gigs and horses. The diary provides an excellent description of travel in North America at that time.

Included are subject files relating to "Hetty Dorval", "The Innocent Traveller", "The Equations of Love", "Love and Salt Water", and "Mrs. Golightly and Other Stories" as well as articles of short works and articles, clippings, and correspondence regarding Ethel Wilson (1944-1972).

The fonds consists of Eric Nicol's business correspondence, drafts (handwritten notebooks and typescripts) for various writings, finished scripts for plays and shows, drafts and newspaper clippings of his columns, reference materials, reviews of his work, printed materials featuring his articles, photographs of Eric Nicol, and subject files. The fonds also contains a file of his correspondence with The Vancouver Sun, which was kept by the Sun and later given to Nicol. His writings are categorized into radio scripts, television scripts, stage scripts, books, articles, short stories and other writings. Drafts and related materials of each category comprise a series.

A second accession was added in 2007, and described in 2008 which consists mainly of manuscripts for books, short stories, articles, stage plays and radio plays which were written by Nicol but never published. It also includes some early drafts of books that were eventually published. The accession also includes Nicol's business correspondence from 1971 to 1978.
