The fonds consists of photographs depicting Bowen Island, including scenes of the Snug Cove area depicting the hotel, cottages and tent camps, beach and other social activities, early steamships, and logbooms. Fonds includes photographs of Bridal Falls (Bowen Island) and general scenes of the island depicting people, buildings, woodlands, roads, trails, lakes and various modes of transportation as well as hunting, fishing, logging and sports activities.

The collection consists of Timms' lantern slides and glass negatives depicting scenes of Vancouver, New Westminster, Bowen Island, Garibaldi, and the Cariboo. Includes photographs of the Timms family and of outings by the Vancouver Natural History Society. Collection also includes slides of previously published material on subjects of personal interest to Timms.

The collection consists of photographs and postcards of a wide range of people, buildings, locales, and events associated with Bowen Island. These include a large number of images of: the Bowen Island Inn resort complex and ships operated by the Terminal Steam Navigation Company and later, the Union Steamship Company; churches; ferry launches operated by the Sannie Transportation Company; members of many island families; beach activities; school activities; sports; picnics; tent camping; logging; ferries; and, local areas such as Snug Cove, Deep Bay, Miller's Landing, Cowan's Point, Tunstall Bay and Hood Point.
