Series consists of administrative records as well as reference and promotional material pertaining to civil defence and emergency protective services in Victoria.
Documents from 1943 to 1962 consist mainly of reference and promotional material such as pamphlets, periodicals, reports and books about civil defence planning, first aid, communications, fallout shelters, emergency feeding, nuclear warfare and related topics, as well as some 40 posters pertaining to civil defence awareness. The administrative records range mainly from 1964 to 1979. Also included are Civil Defence headquarters blueprints, general signage, first-aid station log, and exercise alert signage.
In 1974 the name of the agency changed from the Victoria Civil Defence Control Board to the Victoria Emergency Program

Victoria (B.C.). Police CourtSeries consists of local laws and regulations passed by City Council to control, regulate, and administer affairs within its jurisdiction. The original bylaws are stored in City Hall, but bound duplicates of most of them are located in the Archives. Although some of the originals are missing, many of them can be found among the bound versions. Only those bylaws located in the Archives are included in the file list.

Series consists of City Manager's administrative and operational files pertaining to the development of Centennial Square
Victoria (B.C.). City ManagerSeries includes plans of Chinatown consistent with, but somewhat earlier than, the corresponding sheets in the 1903-1909 set of fire insurance plans (F0006). The plans provide lot numbers as well as street addresses and descriptions of building use. Also included are photographs of the interior and exterior of buildings on Store and Fisgard Streets

Victoria (B.C.). City ClerkSeries consists of reports to City Council by various committees. Prior to the implementation of the committee system in 1885, ad hoc committees were common, and their reports were recorded in the Council minutes (CRS 1).
The reports began to be numbered in 1891. These numbers were used as references in the indexes: the record of reports of committees (CRS 5) and the topical indexes (CRS 15). A chronological item-level descriptive list provides some subject access to the reports for 1885 to 1892.
