These include vital statistics and personal records of the Vilcsek family, photographs, and postcards mailed to the family from Ernő Vilcsek while he was in a labour camp in Hungary. Karsai, HelenCollection is comprised of photographs taken by Canadian aircraftman and photographer Fred Thompson in locations in Germany, Belgium, England and the Netherlands in 1945, at the end of the Second World War. Photographs depict military personnel and aircraft, liberated slave labourers, street scenes, bombed buildings, shipwrecks, Bergen-Belsen atrocities and other scenes witnessed by the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Air Force as part of military operations in northwest Europe.
