The fonds consists of approximately 550 presentation drawings, sketches, conceptual drawings, working drawings, technical drawings (inclusive of blueprints), travel sketches and photographs. These include exterior and interior renderings of plans and designs for work produced in both Europe and in China. The architectural collection consists of works by Hudec and two other unknown authors. The work of Hudec is transcribed in English, German and Chinese characters. The work of the unknown authors is transcribed in Hungarian and German. There are also 2 boxes of textual records including notes, notebooks, photo albums, documents, letters, memos, scrapbooks, photos, legal records, rare journals, and newspapers clippings.

The fonds consists of instructional material, much of it technical, pertaining to the training of a divisional artillery and artillery officers; instructions for units proceedings overseas; artillery defence schemes; operation orders, and instructions for activities at the front; including the Ypres area and on the Somme. Notes regarding the establishment of the 4th/ 5th Cdn. Div. Arty.; and relating to forward observation officers (F.O.O.'s); a report covers a visit by Maj. Gen. A. W. Currie to the Verdun battlefield, Jan., 1917. Several instructions relate to the attack on Vimy Ridge: one with maps for Counter Battery operations; reports of the assault April 9,1917; and defence schemes (5th Cdn. Div. Arty) in 1917. There are extracts of instructions for trench mortar officers; material on gunnery, ammunition, maps and air photographs; copies of messages; instruction etc. for Nov. Dec. 1918. There are maps of areas in Germany occupied by the Cdn. Crops. (Cologne and Bonn). Photos relate to Valcartier Camp, 1914, overseas operations including the Western Front and Aerial photos. There is a scrapbook "relating to the life and service of Brig. General W. O. H. Dodds." Others series include military and civilian correspondence and army instruction booklets and pamphlets.

The collection consists of two volumes. The first volume is hardcover and contains clippings from Toronto newspapers. Some of the text extends into the 1930s but all of the photographs are from 1914-1919. The second volume is unbound. Its clippings are from an unknown source. Included with this volume are some loose clippings from the same sources, together with newspapers from Hamilton and Toronto.

Keith Macgowan fonds

The fonds consists of holograph correspondence written primarily to his mother from the trenches and war front in Europe, together with a typescript transcription of the letters; a photograph of Macgowan with (apparently) two members of his battalion; programme for a Brussels Ball; clippings; and 11 maps used by Macgowan to direct his troops in battle. Also included are aerial photographs of three regions of north-west France together with a map of north-west France (Denain region). Some of the photographs have holograph additions to them, largely for the purpose of identification of towns or other significant features.

Wallace family fonds

The fonds consists of sixty-two handwritten letters and one postcard to the Wallace family. Most are from Edith J. Lyttleton (godmother) to Paul A. W. Wallace during his service in England during WWII. Lyttleton also wrote a few letters to Dorothy (Mrs. Paul Wallace) and to Professor F. H. Wallace (Paul's father?). The other letters are to Paul from Helena Coleman and Marjorie Pickthall.

The collection consists of 123 pen-and-ink drawings and watercolours titled: Sketches of the War : France/Belgium in 2 volumes and is dedicated in a pasted in letter: "To my Daughter Adele." The sketches vary from satirical cartoons to more detailed and naturalistic renditions. They are often accompanied by an ironic title and are often signed with the artist's initials, "J.M." The artist's satirical targets include the officers and high command of both combatant sides; the disjuncture between reported and actual events, and the death of civilians as a fact of modern warfare.
