The fonds consists of photographs and maps, most of which probably originated with the Canadian Hydrographic Service. The photographs include views of three girls on Willows Beach, including the future Alfred Banyard; a wrecked barge in Tahsis Inlet; Coast Guard ships and boats; the West Coast of Vancouver Island, including Tofino airport tower and hydrographic surveying scenes; Bamberton; early wireless radio rooms; lighthouses and light ships; and the demolition of Ripple Rock. Fonds includes British military map of Greater Victoria, a map of southwestern B.C., and a hydrographic chart of Pender Harbour.

Monthly totals are calculated at the end of each month with monthly comparisons at the back of the journal. Journal also documents daily weather conditions as they reflected on the daily operation of the store. Also included are annotations reflecting on current events including both local and world news.

The fonds consists of three scrapbooks of newspaper clippings and one architectural sketch. Scrapbooks document Sorby's work in Victoria, primarily his proposals regarding the development of the Inner Harbour and James Bay Seawalls. Clippings also relate to technological developments, such as fireproof building materials, which influence architectural development. The architectural sketch is a proposed plan of the Parliament Buildings of British Columbia.

Records of Lim Yat consist of architectural sketches, a photograph of 1619-1629 Store Street, and Provincial Exhibition diploma and map. Records of Honoria May Lefevre consist of a scrapbook and photographs documenting her singing engagements. Demolished buildings photographs document houses on Bee Street and Foul Bay Road where the Oak Bay Recreation Centre now stands. The pharmacist journal is of unknown provenance and consists of a list of customer names and their prescriptions. Miscellaneous photographs consist of images of the Gorge, a delivery truck and the Pied Pipers musical group.

The fonds includes William Penman's diaries and scrapbooks, one compiled during World War I by Alexander Cowie (d. 1930), a pioneer of the Comox Valley. Fonds includes postcards depicting places in Canada, the United States, the British Isles, and Jamaica.
