Gordon Miller collection

The collection consists of nine large watercolour illustrative panels commissioned by the UBC Museum of Anthropology, eight of which were commissioned for the exhibit The Four Seasons: Food Getting in British Columbia Prehistory, which ran from April to November 1979. The other watercolour is from an unidentified exhibit or sourcebook.

The records also include minutes from Theta Chapter and Presidents' and Social Reports. Other materials include membership lists, a guest book for an alumni tea, and handbooks for the UBC Theta Chapter and for the University of Washington chapter.

Scott either attended or helped found throughout his lifetime.

The collection consists of six series of papers, photographs and artefacts amassed by the Morishita family. The first series consists of papers and artefacts belonging to the patriarch of the family, Teiji Morishita. The second series consists of papers and artefacts belonging to Teiji's wife, Sawa Morishita. The third series consists of papers and artefacts amassed while the Morishitas (with the Ebisuzakis) ran the Ebisuzaki Shoten (store) at 337 Powell Street in Vancouver, BC. The fourth series consists of family photographs and artefacts belonging to the Morishita family. The fifth series consists of papers and artefacts belonging to the Morishita children. And the sixth series consists of papers and artefacts belonging to the Ebisuzaki family.

Includes slides and script for a BC Conference production, “Take Off Your Shoes,” which was shown as part of the 1974 ordination service. Also includes photographs of Vancouver area churches, taken during Collins’ production of “These Earthen Vessels” for Vancouver-Burrard Presbytery. Photographs of various churches and related buildings, and a recording of the dedication of Skidegate United Church, round out the content of the series.

Ronnie Tessler fonds

The fonds consists of photographs created by Ronnie Tessler from 1986 to 1987 documenting a canoe project by the Nisga’a carver Norman Tait. The project was abandoned in the summer of 1987, and the canoe was left uncompleted. The photographs depict models for the canoe, transportation of the log for the canoe to the Museum of Anthropology, ceremonies performed throughout the project, and various stages of work on the canoe and model. Additional photographs from the same period depict a totem pole raising at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver and portraits of Les Baker, a model Tait wanted to use for a “white man” mask.
