The fonds contains records that reflect in particular the fundraising and exhibition planning functions of the Richmond Art Gallery Association. Also included are administrative records of the Association, including RAGA minutes and reports, as well as gallery statistics and insurance reports. The fonds is arranged by the archivist into 8 series reflecting the functions and activities of the Association, and titled according to a list of standard file classification titles agreed upon by RAGA and RAG staff in 2004: 1. Collection consists of photographic prints and text labels used in the “Emergence from the Shadow: First Peoples’ Photographic Perspective” exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, from October 22, 1999 to January 6, 2002. The images depict several different First Nations groups including Haida, Kimsquit, Bella Coola, Ulkatcho-Carrier, Chilcotin, Assiniboine, and Gitksan. The label text incorporates information which Harlan Smith, the photographer, recorded at the time of creation. Labels gives name and age (if known) of the sitters as well as their lineage, employment, and style of dress.

The collection consists of audio and moving image recordings of performances by Al Neil and various musical ensembles that performed with him (Al Neil Trio, Al Neil Jazz Probe, Al Neil Quartet, and solo efforts). They include performances at the Vancouver School of Art, Simon Fraser University, The Western Front and others. The performances date from 1962 through 1989, although this collection contains CD and DVD copies (not the original recordings).


These copies were produced as part of the Al Neil Project, a 2005 collaborative effort between the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, New Orchestra Workshop, Coastal Jazz and Blues Society and the grunt gallery.

And the sixth series consists of papers and artefacts belonging to the Ebisuzaki family.
