Includes information on Rattlesnake Point, the Walter Moberly journals, Moberly's journeys through the Allison, Coquihalla, and Rogers passes, the life of Walter Dewdney, and Priest Valley School. Fonds also includes personal notes and jotting in regard to the aforementioned subjects, as well as some personal data ephemera, such as membership cards.

Collection consists of an excerpt from the 1984 guided independent study essay by Mr. Macleod of Vancouver, B.C. Excerpt consists of four letters (1892-1896) written by Charles Mair to his friend, G. Denison of Toronto, during Mair's time in B.C. The letters contain Mair's descriptions and opinions of the Okanagan, Kelowna and Vernon. He writes extensively on the settlers in the valley, the political situations in B.C. and Manitoba, his plans for his business and family, and the growing number of large cattle ranches, fruit orchards and mining interests in the Valley.

Includes correspondence to and from Charles Vernon and the Provincial Secretary of B.C. dealing with his numerous duties as justice of the peace, deputy returning officer for the polling division of Okanagan, tax collector, collector of statistics, constable and assistant gold commissioner. Of note is the information on the local settlement patterns and mining activities in the Cherry and Mission Creek areas.

Fonds consists of the business records of the Government Agent's Office, from 1919-1965. Includes the 'Estates Wound Up' administrative ledger and log book used by various government agents, including Norm Schultz, to document the official distribution of provincially administered estates. Alphabetically arranged, each estate record gives the name of the deceased, the date and place of death, a listing of all personal effects (land, money, household goods), their values, the disposition of the effects, a listing of the funeral expenses, payment of the deceased's outstanding debts, and any estate settlement fees. Fonds also includes ephemera regarding estate auction sales and a photograph.

Collected during the team's compilation of a heritage resource inventory of homes and buildings in the Greater Vernon area, the records include both original and copied materials dating from 1874-1986. The records include primary and secondary research materials, research notes, historical papers and essays, heritage assessments, reports, photographs of potential heritage homes, buildings and sites, and numerous maps, plans and blueprints of the surveyed sites and buildings within the Okanagan region.

Includes a hardbound sales account book (plus index) of the individual land sales to settlers in the valley. The index book contains the alphabetical listing of the buyer names, plus the page number on the sale is found in the account book. In the sales account book, each page lists the buyer's name, the lot(s) sold, the sale price and interest rate, a schedule of balances payable, and dates of installment payments. Fonds also includes copies of correspondence sent to various purchasers in regard to accounts payable.
