The collection consists of audio and videotaped oral history interviews with former students and teachers pertaining to the history of Central Junior Secondary School in Victoria, B.C.

CA VMM VMM65 · Collection · 1920-1996, predominant 1930-1976

This collection consists primarily of interdepartmental correspondence and other organizational records created by the Pacific Coast branch of the Canadian National Steamships Company (CNSS). Records were created primarily between the 1920s and the 1970s, during the CNSS' years of operation. Some records (see series 23-26) are not CNSS organizational records, and were added to the collection by other interested donors. The series' records pertain to the company's operations in Vancouver, Victoria, and the West Coast of Canada.

Series 1-21 of the collection consist of the CNSS' organizational records; they were donated by the CNSS, and arranged according to the original order indicated by the markings on the company's original file folders. Series 22 consists of miscellaneous organizational records arranged by the archivist. Series 23-26 consist of a collection of ephemera, promotional materials, photographs, and articles that were arranged on the basis of content.

The collection consists of photographs of Alert Bay and area depicting persons, families, churches, schools, hospital, businesses, organizations, industry, social events, activities of the Columbia Coast Mission, native Indians, and general scenes of the area. The collection incorporates the photographs of the Pioneer Journal (1939-1941, 1951-1964), a newspaper published in Alert Bay.

Collection includes photographs of the Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company in Chemainus (now the Chemainus Division of MacMillan Bloedel Ltd.) and family photograph albums of the Anderson and Howe families.

The collection consists of maps and plans of sites, buildings and ships relating to military operations (including those of the Royal Navy, the Royal Canadian Navy, and the Canadian Armed Forces) in Esquimalt and the Victoria area, including maps, building plans and architectural drawings, ships plans, and nautical charts.

Collection consists of H.P.K. Skipton's manuscript "The Life of George Hills, first Bishop of British Columbia" with annotations, introduction and notes by Archbishop H.E. Sexton, and related correspondence; historical typed and printed material. Includes the printed Sermon preached by Bishop Hills at the farewell service celebrated before his departure (1859), as well as the tenth annual report of the Columbia Mission (1868); includes also the typed copy of "The early days of the Church of England on the Pacific Slope" by Walter N. Sage [s.d.]

Collection · 1921-1922

Collection consists of one file containing a bound volume of the proceedings at the Court of Appeal between the plaintiff, David Hobson, and the defendant being the Corporation of the Township of Richmond. The Appeal Book contains the documentation gathered to support the plaintiff's claim against the defendant for damages through the flooding and overflow of water onto his property, official court documents and transcripts, as well as five photographs that illustrate the damage to the plaintiff's lands on Lulu Island.

The fonds consists of correspondence, notes, published items, newspaper clippings, association minutes, financial statements, and photographs. Records were collected and created by Sandy Sanderson for his interest and work in the hospitality industry. The majority of the fonds are published items and reference materials, with a large percentage of newspaper clippings.

The fonds is arranged into five series: Subject files; Newsmen's Club; British Columbia Chefs' Association Newsletter - notes; Business papers; and Published items and reference material.

Estelle Rose collection

The collection consists of material collected by Estelle Rose relating to the development of Quadra Island. Collection includes records of the Car Ferry Committee (Quadra Island), including correspondence, reports and briefs (1952-1960) relating to the establishment of car ferry service from Campbell River to Quadra Island; records of the Quadra Island Centennial Committee including minutes (1965-1970), reports, correspondence (1965-1969), and financial records; and, correspondence of the Quadra Island Ratepayers Association (1956-1959).

This collection consists of the oral histories of 25 women who were born in Latin American countries and have settled in British Columbia's Lower Mainland since the 1970's. It includes 33 original sound cassettes and one set of copies of the interviews, 25 Spanish transcripts, 25 English transcripts, interviewee consent forms, and a 31-page coil-bound booklet which describes the project and provides brief biographies.

I.O.D.E. scrapbooks

The fonds consists of scrapbooks compiled by the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire, Richmond Chapter, covering the years 1947-1967 and 1967-1973. The scrapbooks chronicle the chapter's activities and interests, and provide information on the executive and members for the given years. The scrapbooks contain photographs, newspaper clippings, historical notes, event programs and memorabilia. The photographs depict IODE members, social events, parade floats, and various places in the community such as the Town Hall, cenotaph, and Lansdowne Park Racetrack.

Sound recordings collection
Collection · 1951-1958

Collection consists of recordings of church services and ceremonies. Includes one recording of the Installation service of Primate Walter Barfoot on September 9, 1951; one program of Indian singing and the address of Reverend Stanley Higgs, one-time missionary to the Thompson Indians at Lyttton, held on December 1952; three recordings of St. Luke's Church final service held on January 26, 1958.

Collection includes a final draft, a paste-up of the finished product, a few copy print images, two audio recordings, and miscellaneous notes and records. The photographs show various activities relating to and sponsored by Steveston Community Society such as: Steveston Salmon Festival, building of Steveston Community Centre and fund raising activities for Martial Arts Centre in Steveston.

Collection · 1940-2003 [predominantly 1940-1972]

The collection includes material relating to Alert Bay that was created or collected by Thomas and Mildred Laurie, as well as photographs and textual records created or received by James Barclay Williams, who bequeathed the records to Mildred Laurie. The collection includes a photo album, photographs, postcards, correspondence, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and a calendar. Photographs document Alert Bay and the surrounding area, including the B.C. Packers store, Christ Church, the native cemetery, St. Michael’s Residential School and Preventorium, Canada Packers, Hardy Bay, totem poles, a long house, and the Nimpkish Hotel. Photographs also document local events, including potlatches, weddings, an outdoor salmon barbeque, BC centenary celebrations in 1958, native ceremonies, and a visit by the Governor General.
