Fonds consists of records relating to University ceremonies created by the Office of Ceremonies since 1982, and before that time, by the Registrar's Office and the President's Office. Activities and topics documented include the opening ceremonies for SFU in 1965, convocations, awards ceremonies, building and room openings and dedications, donor recognition events, staff recognition events, installations of presidents and chancellors, university anniversaries, and other special ceremonies.

Records include programs, books of words (order of proceedings), invitations, guest lists, correspondence, notes, press clippings, news releases, publications, photographic material, and other documents.

Collection consists of an 8 mm silent film of 1950s and 1960s Pitt Meadows Day celebrations as well as a VHS copy of the same. This collection also contains several photographs of Royal parties and various events surrounding the day. Also in the collection are records created by the Pitt Meadows Day Committee including two cash books for the years 1959 to 1989, minutes from 1970 to 1979 and miscellaneous papers for the 1980s and early 1990s, correspondence, programs, and ephemera.

The fonds consists of records of the Office of the Mayor of Nanaimo during the terms of Frank Ney and Graeme Roberts. Fonds includes correspondence files, including the personal correspondence of Frank Ney; records of meetings and ceremonies, and a series of files relating to the Committee investigating proposals for a natural gas pipeline on Vancouver Island. Fonds also includes photographs of the Mayor (primarily Frank Ney) involved in numerous ceremonies and activities, along with aerial photographs of various areas of Nanaimo. Fonds includes Ney's personal appointment books, correspondence (including some as Mayor of Nanaimo and as MLA), legal documents, and speeches; MLA files; records created and accumulated by Ney as Chair of the Nanaimo Centennial Committee, 1967, (including records of the Empire Day Celebration Committee, 1958), as Chair of the Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Society, as President of Great National Land and Investment Corp., and as President of Nanaimo Realty Ltd.; and, photographs depicting Ney's participation in political and community activities and in land and real estate development. Fonds consists of records generated in the course of the Whonnock Community Association's Historical Project, 1985. Fonds consists of photographic prints, audio cassette tapes with summaries, maps and textual materials. The textual materials consist of copies of church records, post office records, newspaper clippings, CP contracts and timetables, land registry records, collector's rolls, petitions, lists of businesses, sections of various BC Directories from 1891 to 1949, public school lists, visitors books and minutes. Also included are handwritten notes related to interviews and other research. An index box contains both a chronological index and an alphabetical index of important dates and people in Whonnock's history. Interviewees include Brian Byrnes, Isobel Byrnes, Cecil Blois, Olive Leaf, Mary Elliot (nee Drewry), Jean Eustice (nee Black), Helen Kolberg (nee Black), Harry Pullen, Charles Miller, and Mark Desrochers. There is also a variety of original and photocopied correspondence, many letters including reminiscences.

Hope, Chairman of the Langley Centennial Committee, on Sunday, April 27th, 1958, the "Centennial Day of Prayer". Collection also includes 3 promotional postcards outlining the history of Fort Langley, each in their original commemorative envelopes post-marked at Fort Langley, B.C., May 8th, 1958.
