Excerpt consists of four letters (1892-1896) written by Charles Mair to his friend, G. Denison of Toronto, during Mair's time in B.C. The letters contain Mair's descriptions and opinions of the Okanagan, Kelowna and Vernon. He writes extensively on the settlers in the valley, the political situations in B.C. and Manitoba, his plans for his business and family, and the growing number of large cattle ranches, fruit orchards and mining interests in the Valley.

Statistics for Nov.1914 - Mar.1916 are found within a small notebook enclosed within the large weather journal.

Morrow which detail his political career and the activities of the Legislative Assembly of B.C. from 1946-1966. The scrapbooks are chronologically arranged from 1946-1952 and 1963-1966. Either compiled by Morrow or his staff, the scrapbooks contain newspaper articles and clippings, invitations, programs, legislative documents, some correspondence, photographs and financial records pertaining to Morrow and his work. Some of the subjects documented within the scrapbooks include the appointment of Nancy Hodges, the first female Speaker of the B.C. Provincial House (1950), and the gas price wars in 1963-1965. Fonds also includes a four page testimonial (1972), honouring Morrow's retirement from the bench.

The documents, which date from 1908-1974, consist of land deeds, land transfers from owner to owner, surveys, assessments, and tax receipts. Collection also includes a cover letter (1986) from Rob MacIntosh of the Land Title Office.

Includes 2067 b&w, 124 colour and 6 hand-tinted photographs that chronicle the City of Vernon from the early 1930's to the late 1980's, covering every aspect of the community's development. From the fads and fashions of the time, to the people and events that make up the area's history, the fonds includes portraits, commercial documentation, news coverage, and aerial photographs. The portraits, which consist of both individual and group photos, include pictures of civic dignitaries, sports teams, military groups, local business staff, and fraternal organization members. The commercial photos consist of city views, city buildings, street scenes, the agricultural landscape, emerging industries, and institutions such as the Vernon army camp. The news coverage photos capture special events that made the local headlines, such as visits of royalty and heads of state, political events and natural or man-made disasters. They also chronicle many of the everyday community activities such as sporting events, civic functions, theatrical productions and holiday celebrations. Of particular note are the aerial photographs, which document the changing topography throughout the Okanagan, ranging from north of Salmon Arm, east to the Arrow Lakes and south to Osoyoos.
