Doug Massey collection

The collection consists of maps and diagrams published by the Geological Survey of Canada about the geomorphology and tidal action at the mouth of the Fraser River (reproduced "to accompany a report by W.A. Johnson"), a hand painted canvas map about "Proposed New Fraser River Tunnel and North Arm Crossing", and a publication "The Tides and Tidal Streams" by the Department of Naval Service, Ottawa.

The fonds consists of records related to the publication of the Index of Newspapers, 1902-1914 in Delta, British Columbia. Records include forms called extraction sheets designed by the Delta Diggers for the purpose of compiling data regarding vital events occurring in Delta and reported in the Delta Times and Delta News between 1902 and 1914. Events listed include marriages, deaths, births, birthdays, marriages, divorces and anniversaries. This data was then assembled in the index for publication.

Bates family fonds

The fonds consists largely of reference material, photographs, and memorabilia collected by Frances Bates as a result of her interest in Delta history and her participation in the founding of the Delta Museum. The fonds also contains records from the operation of the Bates' farm, and correspondence dealing with the expropriation of the farm by the provincial government for the Roberts Bank development. The fonds consists of the following: membership lists, newsletters, incorporation documents such as the constitution, AGM and board meeting minutes, applications for charitable registration status, annual reports, correspondence, presentations to Delta's city council about heritage homes and issues, financial records, receipt book, records relating to Patterson House and the Grauer farmhouse (purchased from the Bierens), notes and ephemera. Includes sample constitutions from other organizations such as the Delta Community Arts Council and the Heritage Preservation Society of New Westminster, as well as Heritage Trust brochures, newsclippings, minutes from the Heritage Canada Foundation, information materials such as a guide to restoring brick masonry, etc. Photographs consist of heritage buildings and homes in Delta such as Chung Chuck's home and office, the Delta Museum and Archives, etc.

The fonds consists of one series of scrapbooks comprised of correspondence, newspaper clippings, promotional materials, album covers, press releases, pamphlets and photographs. The scrapbooks are organized chronologically, documenting the annual activities and achievements of the Delta Youth Orchestra.

The collection consists of 39 copy negatives with 93 matching slides of Delta pioneers, schools and historical locations in Delta, and five cassette tapes of interviews with Delta pioneers conducted by grade five students of Holly Elementary School in Delta. The collection is the result of a centennial year project called "Those Were the Days" carried out by the students under the direction of their teacher Mr. G. Johnson. Photographs include copies of historical images as well as contemporary portraits and scenes. A project list of the images is available. People interviewed for the project were: Murray Davie, Tony and May Lagemaat, Jean Atkinson, Bertha Reynolds, John and Warrena Nottingham, Edith Bell, Mrs. Ellis Telfer, Mrs. Albert Weaver, Ed Vidulich and Dominic Bussanich.

Fonds also includes one book, Webster's School and Office Dictionary (1914) and one pen and ink drawing by Ken Atkey.

Ernest Burnett fonds

The fonds consists of one series of material created by Ernest Burnett in his capacity as mayor: in particular, as a member of the Delta Centennial Committee, which held its meetings in Council chambers. Mr. Burnett's copies of the Committee minutes constitute one series of the fonds. A second series of material includes material Mr. Burnett created as treasurer of the Delta Agricultural Society. This series includes financial statements (1950-1954), and racing programs for Paterson Park (1962-1968). The final series in this fonds consists of one file containing a program for the "Freedom Ceremony" celebrating Delta's 90th Anniversary (1969), and a promotional newspaper entitled "Delta Election '71 News". which promotes the "Delta Team" of municipal candidates including incumbent Mayor Dugald Morrison, Alderman Doug Watkins, Ernie Burnett, and Harold Savage.

The fonds consists of records created by Simeon Fisher during the course of owning and operating Fisher's Drug and Book Store. There are several wholesale invoices as well as nine large prescription invoice ledgers and correspondence between Mr. Fisher, local residents and National Drug Co. where he purchased wholesale drugs for his pharmacy. These records cover the years between 1902 and 1948 when his business was in operation. The fonds is arranged in three series: Correspondence; Prescription Invoices; Drug Invoices.

Photographs consist of a 1916 postcard of Boundary Bay School students with their teacher Miss E. Mackenzie, a May Day postcard, a 1917 postcard of Westham Island School students, students and teachers of King George School in the 1920's and 1930's, teachers and students of Delta Central School in the 1920's, a 1913 Baptist picnic in Ladner, and five photographs of Delta Choral Society productions. Textual records consist of programs for the 1933 Delta Choral Society production of The Mikado, the 1934 production of The Pirates of Penzance, the 1935 production of The Gondoliers, a 1959 invitation to the opening ceremony of Deas Island Tunnel, and a 1981 program for the centennial banquet of All Saints Anglican Church.

Bell family fonds

The Bell family fonds is arranged in three sous-fonds: Edith Bell sous-fonds, Edward Bell sous-fonds, and Harry Bell sous-fonds. Edith Bell's records include diaries, scrapbooks and photographs of family and community events as well as records pertaining to her membership in various organizations including the Imperial Order Daughter of the Empire. Edward Bell's records consist of business papers, particularly land records and wills. Harry Bell's records are personal records related to the Bell family. Through photographs, cartographic material, and textual records, the records document not only the Bell family, but much of the community of Delta. Edith Bell's records provide insight into Delta social affairs and families, while Edward Bell's business records reveal economic and social change as it is documented in land transactions.
