The collection documents Mark Thompson's involvement in the arbitration of labour disputes in British Columbia. It consists of published conference proceedings (1967-1979), copies of various collective agreements, arbitration and mediation case files (1973-1988), and reviews of the Employment Standards Act (1990-1996), and includes correspondence, reports, legal documents, notes, and published materials.

The fonds consists of family papers, genealogical material, manuscripts and correspondence documenting the history of the Warren family in England. Some of the family members represented in the fonds are Reverend Dawson Warren, Falkland G.E. Warren, and Charlotte Jackson. The fonds also includes biographical information about Harry Warren and copies of his publications to 1978.

The fonds consists of audio recordings of Weisgarber compositions or performances (1957-1999); musical scores, drafts and sketches (1941-1996); and research materials generated or accumulated by Weisgarber in the preparation of an unpublished biography of Aurelio Giorni, a manuscript entitled “Flute Music of Zen,” and an article "The Honkyoku of the Kinko-Ryu: Some Principles of its Organization" (1968). It also consists of the family and personal records, including correspondence, of Elliot, his wife Beth, and their family.

Fonds consists of laboratory manuals published by the UBC Department of Physics between 1949 and 1966 (most dated 1957-1962); mimeographed hand-outs for experiments and other assignments; hand-written lecture notes; and a 1944 Canadian Army physics laboratory manual. Many of the manuals are annotated. The manuals are bound, but the notes and hand-outs are loose; all have been placed in acid-free folders. They are arranged by course number, and then chronologically; unnumbered materials, and folders containing unsorted material from various courses, were placed at the end.
Fonds also includes promotional materials, many of which relate specifically to the Department of Physics at university-wide Open Houses, annual reports from the Department of Physics, notes made by Professor John Warren regarding x-rays and particle physics, as well as photographs taken of individuals, groups, and events related to the Department of Physics.

The fonds consists of 44 separate archival series most of which are based on specific production titles. For each title there is a digital master copy of the program(s). Each production includes a set of video and audio elements, the bulk of which are original shoot tapes. In addition there is also corresponding textual material that helps provide context and background for the development of the various projects. The textual and a/v materials have been described in separate sections of the inventory. For both sets of material the numbers assigned during the original cataloguing and creation of the database have been retained and appear in square brackets [ ] as part of the descriptions to allow for cross referencing as necessary.
First donation: This donation is Paperny Film's first to an archival repository and it represents 27 of the company's indigenous proprietary titles (1996-2004) of their approximately 55 non-fiction productions (1996-2007). The collection is comprehensive in that it offers digital master copies of each of the title/series included in this donation. There are 62 original masters that include over 50 hours of recordings. There is also a DVD copy of each of the master tapes to provide easy access to the information.
The collection features over 1900 a/v elements arising from some 27 separate productions. The scope of material includes: BetacamSP, MiniDV, Digial Betacam, DVD, VHS, CDs and digital audio tapes. The majority of the collection consists of original shoot tapes. There are over 1,000 hours of video recordings featuring prominent Canadian including Mortecai Richler, Henry Morgentaler, Jimmy Pattison, and Nancy Green.
In addition to the obvious importance of providing access to full interview interviews with and about prominent Canadians, the a/v elements are also quite instructive in helping communicate an understanding of the creative process that gave rise to particular productions.
The textual material extents to approximately 5.15 metres and also includes over 13,000 photographic images. The images document the various production shoots and, in some cases, include copies of historical photographs/documents that were used in the productions.
Examples of the types of records included with the textual material include: treatments, outlines, synopses, proposals; collected research materials; correspondence relating to development, production, publicity; original interview notes and transcripts, interview schedules; scripts (and drafts), storyboards; production schedules, production reports and daily call sheets; publicity stills, negatives, transparencies and digital photographs; marketing plans, publicity packages, one-sheets, press releases and coverage; transcripts of completed shows; EDL's (edited decision list), assembly notes, tape logs; credit rolls, final credits and super lists.
Of particular interest in the textual material are a set of handwritten notebooks created by David Paperny, Audrey Mehler and others. Seventeen in total, these notebooks are in Box 1 (3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14,15); Box 4 (3,8); Box 6 (17); Box 11 (23a); and Box 12 (8).
Second donation: The second donation from Paperny Film's represents 15 of the productions (1993-2006) including the Academy Award nominated The Broadcast Tapes of Dr. Peter. The collection offers digital master copies of each of the title/series included in this donation. There are 183 original masters and a DVD copy of each to provide easy access to the
information.
The collection features over 1200 AV elements arising from 15 separate productions, some of which have several seasons associated with them. The scope of material includes: BetacamSP, MiniDV, Digital Betacam, DVC Pro, DVCAM, Betacam SX, DVD, VHS, CDs and digital audio tapes. The majority of the collection consists of original shoot tapes.
There are roughly 75 cm of textual material in the newest accession.
Examples of the types of records included with the textual material include: episode synopses, outlines and storyboards; graphics; proposals; collected research materials; correspondence; original interview notes and transcripts; schedules; research notes and materials; scripts; publicity stills, negatives, transparencies and digital photographs; marketing plans, advertisements, publicity packages, one-sheets, press releases and coverage; and transcripts of completed shows.
The textual material also includes handwritten notebooks created by David Paperny, found in Box 77 (1-12) and Box 78 (1-8).

The fonds consists of logbooks, trip register, meeting minutes, and photograph albums. The logbooks and trip registers chronicle the general activities of the Varsity Outdoor Club and the activities at their various cabin locations, with comments by many who use the facilities. The files on meeting minutes contain not only minutes, but also sometimes copies of the VOCene, the club’s newsletter, or advertisement and informational material related to the organization’s activities. The photograph albums contain black and white as well as colored prints from several decades of the club's existence.

The fonds consists of Ricou's correspondence during his teaching careers at the University of Lethbridge and UBC. The fonds also includes records relating to his involvement with the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English (ACUTE), book reviews, negotiated grants, Literary History of Canada, Canada research fellowships and a summer course taught on the writings of Malcolm Lowry. The fonds also contains research information pertaining to the life and work of Canadian author Patricia Blondal.

The records consist of correspondence, architectural plans, research grant proposals, research reviews, CVs and videotapes of colloquia and other PWIAS events, and numerous other records relating to the mission and programs of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, published materials, and other records documenting the programs and activities of the School of Social Work, its faculty, and its students. The fonds of the Faculty of Medicine includes records which document the administrative and operational activities, actions and interests of the Faculty. Such records pertain to the establishment and organization of the Faculty; the development and actions of the Facultys governing bodies and committees; the planning, development and construction of various Faculty buildings such as the University Hospital, the I.R.C. Centre, the Basic Medical Sciences buildings and the Health Sciences Centre. These records also refer to the use of regional hospitals as clinical teaching hospitals and to relations between the Faculty and the University at large; as well as, with other university medical schools, governments, medical and related professions, associations and societies, businesses and hospitals. The records within this fonds also pertain to the Facultys receipt of gifts and donations, its departmental / divisional research endeavors and it applications for, and receipt of, awards for professional distinction. Types of material found in the Faculty of Medicine fonds include: correspondence, working papers, minutes, photographs, newspaper clippings, memorandum, agendas, studies, internal reports and reviews, applications, protocols and surveys. The fonds consists of research material on a variety of medical and historical topics as well as research for a number of Gibson’s books and articles including his books about UBCʹs first president Frank F. Wesbrook, Ramon y Cajal, Sherrington, and his books New Endeavour and Old Endeavour. The fonds includes manuscripts of a number of Gibson articles and speeches as well as chapters from some of his books, records from Woodward Health Science centre and documents for the history of the Faculty of medicine, and related to Green College UBC and Oxford. Also included are records from the Agricultural Science Fund Committee (1967‐1974), School of Rehabilitation Medicine (1953‐1961), Master Teaching Awards Committee (1967‐1972), minutes from the Council of the Faculty of Medicine (1950‐1964), materials relating to Vancouver civic politics (1970‐1984), and correspondence with Sir Frederick Dainton (1980‐1983), Cecil Green, and Wilder Penfield among many others.
