Newsletters

Series consists of newsletters printed by the VHCS between 1989 and February, 1994 and Zachor, published by the VHEC from May 1994 to the present. Series has been arranged into two sub-series: VHCS Update (1989–1994) and Zachor (1994–2019).

Exhibition records

Series consists of promotional materials, financial records, correspondence, photographs, design files, and other records to do with exhibitions produced and rented by the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, starting with inaugural exhibit, Anne Frank in the World, 1929-1945, which opened November 7, 1994.

Audiovisual recordings

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s worship leadership at University Hill Congregation, presentations at Maritime Conference and Berwick Camp, Nova Scotia, and retirement service and luncheon.

Significant documents

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s career as student, pastoral minister, lecturer and presenter, writer, and leader in the wider church. Record types include correspondence, news clippings, photographs, academic degrees, curriculum vitae, copies of articles, handwritten letters of appreciation, orders of service, and memorabilia from special events.

Leadership-related records

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s leadership as Chair of the Land Claims Campaign, BC Conference, and in the matter of the partnership between University Hill Congregation and the Vancouver School of Theology. Records include correspondence, statistical analyses, meeting notes, copy of an agreement, and promotional materials.

Publications and manuscripts

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s written contributions to periodicals and books. Records include draft manuscripts and galley proofs.

Student papers

Series consists of records relating to research, essays, and projects undertaken in fulfillment of requirements toward Searcy’s Bachelor of Arts, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry degrees.

Lectures and addresses

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s public presentations in various settings, primarily about congregational ministry, to lay and clergy leaders of the wider church. Records include scripts and handwritten notes.

Sermons

Series consists of records relating to Searcy’s preaching at Crescent United Church (Surrey, BC), South Arm United Church (Richmond, BC), and University Hill Congregation (Vancouver, BC). Records include typescript sermons.

Events

This series contains official documentation of Vancouver Community College events, including graduations, anniversary celebrations, student award ceremonies, employee recognition ceremonies, and music performances.

Memorabilia

This series consists of memorabilia (objects, newspaper clippings, videos, and documents) collected over the course of Vancouver Community College's history.

Photographs

Series consists of contemporary photographs of the activities of the Committee as well as photographs relating to anti-Semitism. Also included are prints of photos depicting images from the Warsaw Ghetto.

Clippings

Series consists of newspaper clippings and photocopies of articles discussing subjects relevant to the activities and mandate of the Committee such as anti-Semitism, war crimes and women and the Holocaust.
