Clergy records

Series consists of clergy records, correspondence, reports, clippings, printed material, photographs. Consists of registers and files of deceased and transferred clergy, including student files, biographical information, oaths, declarations and other clergy documents.

Parish files

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, petitions, constitutions, instruments of consecration, legal records, property records, financial records, cemetery records, parish profiles, statistics, notes, journals, newsletters, histories, clippings, printed material, photographs, postcards, slides, drawings, architectural records, plans, cartographic records. Alphabetically arranged including Prince Rupert Coast Mission. Includes some baptism, confirmation, marriage and burial records from various parishes.

Published materials

This series consists of records related to Lyons' activities as an author, including book-length publications, newspapers and magazine articles, and covers the period of the early 1950s until his death. Lyons typically addressed British Columbia history, botany, wildlife, parks, and other related topics in his writings. This series includes manuscripts and monographs by Lyons with extensive handwritten revisions. It also contains botanical drawings used to illustrate Lyons' field guides, as well as research notes, newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence, dust jackets, brochures, pamphlets, reports, photographs, slides, and other textual records pertaining to Lyons' publications. This series consists of three subseries: 1) monographs; 2) field guide illustrations; and 3) newspapers and magazines.

Miscellaneous records

This series consists of correspondence and other records pertaining to aspects of Lyons life and work that are not covered in the other series of the fonds. It includes material related to Lyons professional work in the BC Forest Service, BC Parks, and BC Fish and Game, as well as Lyons' work with Toastmasters. There are also some records from Lyons' involvement with the B.C. Museum Association. This series also includes other miscellaneous personal records and some painting and drawings by Lyons. There is no discernible order to these records, but they have been loosely grouped into this series. Records include Lyons' expired passports, maps, brochures, research notes, correspondence, reports, postcards, booklets and pamphlets.

Cemetery records

Series consists of cemetery records, legal records, property records, financial records, instrument of consecration, correspondence, notes, plans, clippings, printed material, architectural record. Consists primarily of records relating to Ross Bay Cemetery, Victoria, but also includes some items relating to Royal Oak Cemetery.

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, instruments of consecration, notes, printed material, clippings, legal records, property records, financial records, histories, manuscripts, cemetery records, photographs, cartographic records, architectural records. Includes subseries of parish files.

Petitions and consecrations

Series consists of instruments of consecration. Includes petitions and consecrations for Cowichan Cemetery; Nanaimo, St. Paul; North Saanich, Holy Trinity; Quamichan, St. Peter; Saanich Cemetery; Sandwick, St. Andrew; Victoria, Christ Church Cathedral; Victoria, St. James, James Bay; Victoria, St. John the Divine; Victoria, St. Luke, Cedar Hill; Victoria, St. Paul, Esquimalt and naval cemetery.

Records relating to Anglican Chinese Missions

Series consists of correspondence, reports, minutes. Includes correspondence of Bishop and diocesan administrators with the Superintendent of Anglican Chinese Missions in British Columbia who worked for the Provincial Board of Missions to Orientals, reports of the Good Hope Mission in Victoria, and minutes of the Provincial Board. Records are mostly from the 1920's.
