Series consists of a journal describing details of equipment and supplies available for purchase from various suppliers and manufacturers. The entries generally refer to goods other than vehicles and machinery (which are described in series CRS 248), such as flags, florist supplies, and fire extinguishers. Most entries describes the supplier, details of the product, and the cost.

Monthly reports

Series consists of monthly reports pertaining to the purchase of goods and services. The reports include aggregate figures regarding requisitions received, purchase orders issued store accounts issued, invoices passed, and cash discounts taken, as well as notes and working papers used to calculate the reported figures.

Series consists of a monthly listing of vendors supplying the following products to the City: hardware, lumber, paint, leather goods, stationary, ship chandlery, electrical, groceries, meat, butter, sand and gravel, gasoline, and auto tires.

Series consists of a journal describing details of cars and trucks purchased by the City. Also describes, under "miscellaneous equipment," purchases of such things as cash registers, air conditioners, washing machines, lawn mowers, and other machinery. Each entry describes the supplier, details of the product, and the cost.

Series consists of specifications required for equipment, supplies, and services considered for purchase by the City. Also includes Finance Department sample forms. Most specifications indicate the tender number, providing cross references to CRS 236 (Quotation record book) and CRS 183 (Tenders and quotations).
There are a number of gaps in this series, most notably from 1953 to 1959

Supplies consumed by City departments

Series consists of lists, reports, and notes describing the amount of various items used by City departments each year, such as coal, gasoline, oil, and milk. Also includes descriptions of other purchases such as cars and trucks and cluster lamps.
There are several gaps in this series, most notably from 1927 to 1929 and 1942 to 1946

Quotation record book

Series consists of a record of quotations received for materials considered for purchase by the City. Does not include actual prices and suppliers, but rather consists of an index to such documents (see CRS 183, Tenders and quotations and CRS 246, Specifications). Describes the quotation number, date, department, and description of material. Includes an alphabetical list of suppliers ca. 1951-1956.
Arranged alphabetically by type of material, and numerically within each alphabetical group (the numerical order reflects the chronology of receipt, since the quotations were numbered in the chronological order received)

Tenders and quotations

Series consists of tenders and quotations from vendors for equipment, supplies, and services considered for purchase by the City. A full list of tenders can be found in CRS 236 (Quotation record book). For detailed specifications related to tenders, see CRS 246 (Specifications).
Arranged by month from 1927 to 1957. From 1958 onwards the tenders are filed individually by tender number

Series consists of correspondence of the City Purchasing Agent. Correspondence deals primarily with policy and procedures of the Purchasing Division with several special occasion files interfiled within.
Arranged alphabetically with annual breaks in the files.

Advertisement purchasing log

Series consists of correspondence, advertisement rates, and newsclippings of advertisements purchased by the City from local newspapers. Advertisements deal with job vacancies, tenders, public notices, and bylaw announcements.
