The records in this series deal with all aspects of storm drainage and flood control, and overlap with other series in the areas of culverts and dykes. The records in this series cover policy, programming, financing and operational aspects of drainage works, and include signed contracts for construction and maintenance of dykes, pumphouses, drainage channels and ditches. The series includes general files which cover a range of topics and intiatives, from measurement of rain fall to the placement of drainage works. In addition, the records document the involvement of the Engineering Department in the Fraser River Flood Control Program and include separate files for Mitchell Island, dyke improvement, local improvement initiatives. and improvements to Woodwards Slough. Includes records relating to the Drainage Coordination Committee, the Lower Mainland Municipal Association Dyking Committee, and the Agric-Food Regional Development Subsidiary Agreement (ARDSA).
