              Plan of Port Essington consists of an architectural plan for the townsite of Port Essington compiled from plans in Land Registry and described as Composite Plan 537 (originally deposited October 17th 1893). Depicts Skeena River, Hocsal River, individual lots and streets, the B.C. Fishing and Packing Co. Ltd., a graveyard, and the Anglo British Columbia Packing Co.

              "Port Essington: A Town Remembered" consists of copies of 4 black & white photographs of Port Essington, taken in October 1984 by Nancy Robertson, and published on page 13 of the 15 November 1984 edition of The Daily News, Prince Rupert's newspaper. The page caption reads as follows : "Port Essington : a town remembered - These photos are from an aging Port Essington taken in the fall month of October by photographer Nancy Robertson. Once a thriving community, Port Essington stands derelict at a Skeena estuary with only occasional visitors."

              The fonds consists of records from three distinct sources: the Leonard Frank Photo Studio, the Frank family , and the Landauer family. The records of Leonard Frank Photo Studio constitute those that remained after the closure of the business in 1983. They consist of photographs and textual records. The photographs cover many significant events and developments in British Columbia's history. Their major subject areas include logging, lumbering, mining, fishing and transportation; the construction of bridges and buildings in the Vancouver area; famous people; aboriginal peoples; and scenic views of mountainous, coastal, and urban areas. The photographs were taken by Leonard Frank and Otto Landauer. The textual records consist of photographic FindingAids, business correspondence, financial records, and historical and reference material. The records of the Frank family consist of the personal papers of Leonard and Bernard Frank. The records of the Landauer family consist of the personal papers of Otto Landauer and members of his family.

              The collection consists of maps of western Canada, British Columbia and the Salmon Arm area.

              Fonds is arranged into four series and consists of aerial photographs and negatives, paper maps, and overlay. Majority of photographs are black and white. Color photographs date between 1989 and 1990. A separate collection is arranged for use by silverculturists dating between 1984 and 1990. Photographs are color. Aerial photographs were taken by the Department of National Defense and later by the British Columbia government. Fonds includes air photograph map indices. These map indices show flight line location and numbering of aerial photos taken between 1952 and 1994. Fonds also includes forestry district overlays; enlarged aerial negatives and photos; map mosaics; recreation maps of areas from Chase to Revelstoke to Oyama, BC; grazing area permits and licenses on crown land; and Federated Co-Operative Operational Cut Block Plans.
