Biographical history
Ernest C. Hayward was the second son of Charles and Sarah Hayward. He was educated at Stanford University in California where he obtained a B.A., M.A., and B.Sc. Upon his return to Victoria he entered the electrical business and was a member of the firm Hawkins and Hayward. He also served the municipality of Oak Bay as a school trustee, councillor and reeve.
