        History

Born in New Westminster, Ture Erickson became Head of Sedgewick Library in 1965. Erickson participated on the Day of Concern Committee in 1984. Reacting to the on-going cut backs in educational funding and the perceived negative impact on the quality of education, members of the Faculty Associations from B.C.'s three universities organized a "Day of Concern" for September 8, 1984. The committee co-ordinated the planning for the public event which was intended to allow members of the university community to explain the serious situation confronting the universities and education in general.
