              This fonds documents the activities of the Victoria Limners Society from 1972-2008 and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, financial records and society filings. It also contains records related to various group exhibits, including the Limners’ 25th anniversary exhibition in 1996, as well as records related to a book and video produced about the group. A small number of newspaper clippings, exhibition pamphlets, various editions of a booklet on the Limners Society artists and black and white photographs showing Limner members at exhibitions and meetings can be found in this fonds.               The fonds consists of one album of photographs taken by Sage between September 1945 and August 1946 at a relocation camp near Tashme, B.C. where she was a social worker. The photographs include general views of the scenery, individuals and groups and some smaller buildings. In addition to the camp shots, there are also pictures of Japanese Canadians preparing for relocation. The album also includes a newspaper clipping, post card and a typescript article about the Tashme Camp. The fonds also includes a small body of correspondence written by Margaret Sage to her parents Walter and Nelda Sage and to her brother Donald (1945/46).

The second series is of images of a reception of a $5000 grant from the city of Vancouver to the Redress Committee, Vancouver City Hall, Vancouver, BC. The third series is of images of a Japanese Canadian Community Facility fund raising dinner; Vancouver, BC. The fourth series is of images of the JCCA Board of Directors; Vancouver, BC. The fifth series is an image of Art Miki and Brian Mulroney signing the Japanese Canadian Redress agreement at Ottawa, Ont. The sixth is an image of a Buddhist memorial service. The seventh series is of two photograph albums belonging to Kazuo Miki containing photographs of the Haney, BC, the Asahi baseball team, miscellaneous outdoor portraits and miscellaneous photographs of social gatherings, most of which were photographed during the 1920s and 1930s. The eighth series is of a group portraits belonging to Shizuko Miki. The ninth series is of photographs of Japanese Canadians in Slocan, BC during World War Two. The tenth series is of photographs of Japanese Canadians meeting with government officials and people at a booth providing information about the Japanese Canadian Internment. The eleventh series is of group portraits of Japanese Canadian groups and organizations. The twelfth series is of educational material pertaining to Japanese Canadians and the Japanese Canadian Internment. The thirteenth series is of pamphlets and postcards pertaining to Japanese Canadians and the Redress. The fourteenth series is of reports and publications that advocate for the Japanese Canadian Redress and provide information about the Japanese Canadian Internment. The fifteenth series is of newsletters and news publications relating to the Japanese Canadian Redress settlement. The sixteenth series is of cassette tapes surrounding historical tours and reactions to the Redress and Official apology by the Government of Canada to Japanese Canadians.

              Ronnie Tessler fonds

              The fonds consists of photographs created by Ronnie Tessler from 1986 to 1987 documenting a canoe project by the Nisga’a carver Norman Tait. The project was abandoned in the summer of 1987, and the canoe was left uncompleted. The photographs depict models for the canoe, transportation of the log for the canoe to the Museum of Anthropology, ceremonies performed throughout the project, and various stages of work on the canoe and model. Additional photographs from the same period depict a totem pole raising at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver and portraits of Les Baker, a model Tait wanted to use for a “white man” mask.

              Collection comprises photographs, manuscripts, correspondence, ephemera, books and periodical material resulting from and pertaining to the settlement and subsequent history of Doukhobors in Western Canada. Books and periodical items have been catalogued in the SFU Library Catalogue. Digitized images and accompanying descriptions of approx. one third of the collection are available on the Doukhobor Collection, 1898-1930 website.

              The fonds consists of 6 files of research material used in the production of Sedgwick's master of arts thesis concerning the Chinese community in Victoria, B.C.: The Context of Economic Change and Continuity in an Urban Overseas Chinese Community. The fonds includes photographs not reproduced in the thesis, and transcriptions of interviews with members of the Chinese community that include recollections of family, neighbours, neighbourhoods, and local businesses.

              The collection consists of a memoir written in 1999 and data collected by Richard H. Yamanaka concerning the history of Japanese people in Prince Rupert from 1907 to 1942. It includes 2 computer discs and an eight-page copy of his memoir. There are also 5 photographs of Japanese people in Prince Rupert and the interior of Yamanaka's Grocery Store on 3rd Avenue West.

There is also a wide range of individual and family portraits, and photographs of headstones.
