Fonds consists of the records of the Cortes Island Ratepayers Association (CIRA), including administrative documents, minutes of CIRA and APC meetings, annual reports, newsletters, correspondence and materials related to the provision of services, land use planning and other issues of island concern. The fonds is composed of the following series: Administrative Documents, Minutes; Financial; Newsletters and Notices; Subject files; Community Planning and Land Use (Advisory Planning Commission); Clippings; Maps and Plans.

Fonds consists of material generated by the Cortes Island Seniors' Building Society and includes meeting minutes, administrative records, research materials, correspondence, ephemera, maps, plans, and publications of the Cortes Island Seniors' Building Society, as well as some records of the Cortes Island Old Age Pensioners' Organization. Fonds is arranged into ten series, following the original order of the records.

Fonds consists of a summary of the results of a questionnaire regarding ferry service composed by the Transportation Committee and sent to Cortes Island residents; the original questionnaires returned by islanders; and notes on other transportation issues such as road pavement and boat launch sites. Original order has been maintained.

File contains a notebook used as a guest book for Cortez Lodge. It has lists of names of guests with occupations, addresses and charges for room and board. Records are listed by day and month but there is no year date.

Fonds consists of material that was gathered by Thompson as she researched island history for museum exhibits and local history albums. It includes land title information about Cortes Island properties going back to the original Crown Grants, correspondence and notes about Cortes Island history, photographs, maps and ephemera.
Fonds is arranged in five series: Land Titles Research; Historical Information; Maps; Photographs; and Ephemera.

Fonds consists of two photograph albums containing 479 black and white photographs with captions, dating from 1916 to 1927. Most of the photographs depict family, friends and scenes from Cortes Island, especially the area known as Green Valley; some photographs show school friends and family from Vancouver and Saskatchewan. Titles in quotation marks are Dorothy Huck's photograph captions. Other information used in photograph descriptions comes from the "Green Valley", "Carrington Bay/Coulter Bay" and "Whaletown to 1930" albums created for CIMAS in 1999 by Doreen Huck Thompson, a niece of Dorothy Huck. Unless otherwise noted, the location of all photos is Cortes Island.

Fonds consists of one scrapbook with 20 pages of photographs depicting Cortes Island people and places. Photographs, with penciled captions, are pasted onto the pages. Pages have been interleaved for conservation.

Fonds consists of 49 original photographs from the Michael Manson family, mostly from the early 20th century (1898-1928). The photographs depict the Manson family, logging and farming on Hernando and Cortes Islands, Michael and Jane Manson's Golden Wedding anniversary, and Florence McKay's 90th birthday celebration. The photographs were originally in an album with handwritten captions along with newspaper articles about Michael Manson, Jane Manson and Florence McKay.

Fonds consists of records of Friends of Cortes Island Society and includes meeting minutes, administrative documents, correspondence, notes, and publications created by FOCI between 1996 and 2001. It comprises 15 files arranged into 9 series; original order has been maintained.

Fonds consists of the personal records of Gilean Douglas which were produced and accumulated during her personal and literary activities. The preponderance of material dates from 1948 to 1993 and directly concerns her life on Cortes Island. Because of Douglas's involvement in the public life of the island, and her interest in local history, her papers contain a great deal of information about the political, community and social life of Cortes Island. Fonds consists of records of the Gorge Harbour Community Hall Society, including minutes of meetings, financial statements and administrative records and correspondence. It is arranged into five series: Minutes, Financial, Administrative Records, Correspondence and Programs.

Fonds consists of records of the Harbour Authority of Cortes Island and includes meeting minutes, financial statements, administrative documents, correspondence, leases and newsletters. Original order has been maintained.

Fonds consists of black and white photographs dating from the 1950s, showing people and scenes from Manson's Landing.

This fonds comprises records of four Cortes Island women's service organizations, including minutes, financial records, administrative records, correspondence, photographs, ephemera and artifacts. It is arranged in four sous-fonds according to the creator of the records: Whaletown Women's Institute (2009.001.1); Whaletown Women's Auxiliary of the Anglican Church (2009.001.2); Cortes Island Women's Institute (2009.001.3); and Island Women's Club (2009.001.3). Related material in CIMAS archives may be found in the Whaletown Women's Institute fonds (1999.002), the Gilean Douglas fonds (1999.001), and the May and Elmer Ellingsen fonds (2007.001).

This collection consists of photographs of Jalmar Olson, his house and garden in Gorge Harbour, and Whaletown. Textual records include a hand-written account of J. Olson by his grand-daughter, Judy (Alderson) Gerwing, and a photocopy of a letter to J. Olson from the Meteorological Division of the Dept. of Transport (Small fonds box 1-18).

Fonds consists of ten diaries kept by James Layton, covering the years 1948-1981, and a Time Book. Layton made daily entries in the diaries, noting the weather, activities, social interactions and, occasionally, notable external events. Typical activities included logging, fishing, working on an oyster lease, digging clams, gardening, visiting, reading and writing letters. Times of planting and harvesting the garden, sightings of wildlife, and names of people living nearby or visiting on boats are recorded.

Fonds consists of five cartoons by Ken Slater. There are three large coloured pen and ink cartoons drawn as Christmas cards for Gary and Velma Bergman, owners of the Whaletown store, and two pencil drawings.

Fonds contains six oversize photograph albums with photographs of Linnaea School students, teachers and events. Textual records include administrative documents, ephemera, newsletters, yearbooks, and articles created by Linnaea School. It is arranged in seven series: Administrative records; Creative projects; Linnaea Learner; Yearbooks; Publicity materials; School photo descriptions; and Linnaea School photograph albums.
