Radio Society fonds

Fonds consists of records documenting the programs and activities of the Radio Society / CiTR, including textual records and sound recordings of a variety of programs, radio plays, campus events, public service announcements, and advertisements produced by the Radio Society for broadcast on its station (CYVR/CiTR) or affiliated radio stations. In addition, the fonds includes recordings of interviews conducted on behalf of the Alma Mater society relating to its art collection.

The fonds consists of photographs (35mm negatives), and video and audio recordings. They document a wide variety of important people, events and activities at the University of British Columbia. It is arranged in two series: Photographic and Audio Visual.
Most of these materials were actually created by Information Services and Community Relations, the predecessor agencies of Public Affairs.

The fonds consists of records relating to his career as a journalist and to his family life in Victoria. It has been arranged in two series, Autobiography and Writing. The Autobiography series consists of Archies autobiographical works, which document his service in World War I and his family life and career. It has been arranged into three sub-series: All in A Lifetime, My Life in the Army, and Travel. The Writing series consists of his published and unpublished work, and background material for it. The series shows his interest in making new generations of Victoria residents aware of their citys history and aware of World War I history. It has been arranged into two sub-series: Articles and Stories, and Broadcasts. Records include typed manuscripts, clippings of Archies published articles, photographs including photograph albums, diaries, scrapbooks, war medals, and ephemera.

Boundary Museum photograph collection

The collection consists of photographs of Grand Forks and the Boundary region (including the communities of Columbia, Phoenix, Greenwood, Midway, Rock Creek, and Christina Lake) depicting individuals, families and community groups; community events; schools and class photographs; general scenes; and, economic activity (including railway activity, ranching, mining and smelting (Granby Smelter), and milling. The collection includes photographs created by the Grand Forks Gazette newspaper.

James Delgado fonds

The fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Delgado since 1964. The fonds contains correspondence, personal records, photographs, slides, negatives, video recordings, audio recordings of interviews with Delgado, and files focusing on: projects (shipwreck and historic sites), expeditions, lectures and education, and writing. The fonds also focuses on Delgado’s work with the National Park Service in the US, his work with the Vancouver Maritime Museum and with the Institute for Nautical Archaeology. Records also focus on Delgado’s work on The Sea Hunters television program.

The fonds comprises records created by Duke from approximately 1946 to 2006. They are related to all aspects of Duke’s life and career. Among other types of records, the fonds includes: drafts of Duke's articles, essays and speeches; personal and production photographs; annotated working scripts of various television and film productions; personal and administrative correspondence; legal records, personal and administrative correspondence pertaining to the takeover of CKVU-TV; awards; personal notes; journals; press clippings featuring work by and about Duke; ephemera collected by Duke; and audio/visual material.

Series have been determined during archival processing and are primarily based on the various activities that Duke engaged in over his life and working career (see the Arrangement note below for more details about series arrangement). Fonds comprises the following record series: Correspondence – JAFT to WST (1945-1998); Published articles and resources (1967-2006); Early writings (1959-1980); Personal correspondence (1966-1986); Academic writings (1958-1967); Newsletters (1984-1994); Regular newspaper columns (2007-2009); Manuscripts for monographs (1996-2001); Reference: books written or edited by James Taylor (1981-2010). Documentary forms include correspondence, research notes, interview transcripts, draft and published versions of magazine articles, play scripts, and full manuscripts of books. David Suzuki fonds

Fonds consists of textual and audiovisual material related to David Suzuki’s professional work. It includes notes and manuscripts of several of his book, including "From Pebbles to Computers" and "Sciencescape" and copies of and correspondence relating to his articles published by "The Globe and Mail", the Southam News Syndicate and "Science Dimension" in the 1980s. It also includes correspondence relating to his professional work, his broadcasting and literary career, his work in the Department of Zoology at UBC, and research materials, information and correspondence regarding various associations to which Suzuki belonged or had dealings. It also includes recordings of Dr. David Suzuki’s "Discovery" and Dr. Suzuki’s "Equinox" from 1983-1990 and video recordings of some episodes of "The Nature of Things" from 1994, and copies of his speeches from 1985-2009.

Series consists of records relating to Taylor’s course work through the University of British Columbia, most of which he generated through a correspondence course in short-story writing, while living in Prince Rupert. Records also include some curricula for courses he designed and taught for the Canadian Institute of Speech in Prince Rupert.

Edgar Dunning fonds

The fonds consists of Mr. Dunning's family and business records; records accumulated as a member of various community organizations; and documents, manuscripts, and photographs resulting from Edgar's work for the Delta newspaper, the Optimist, and his interest in Delta community events and history. Family records include correspondence and legal records regarding the property on 48th Avenue and Delta Street, as well as financial and educational certificates. A large series of memorabilia includes invitations and other ephemera, which Edgar accumulated as publisher and reporter for the Optimist and as active community member. Business records are largely from the Optimist printing business, and include examples of print products such as invitations, programs, letterheads, tickets, municipal reports, etc., which were printed for local people and businesses of Delta. A small series of Optimist newspaper records include lists of subscribers from the 1940s. The fonds includes a sample of Edgar's writings for the Optimist on historical topics, plus a larger group of manuscripts that have been edited by him in his capacity as editor of the Optimist and as an interested and knowledgeable local historian. The fonds also consists of minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, etc. accumulated by Edgar as a member of the Delta Community Band, various centennial committees, the Delta Historical and Museum Society, and other organizations. Edgar is a talented amateur photographer, and his photograph collection reflects his work as a reporter and his interest in the people and events of Delta. Vilcsek family collection

Collection consists primarily of records generated or used during the period of the Second World War by the Vilcsek family in Budapest, Hungary. These include vital and personal records of the Vilcsek family, photographs, and postcards mailed to the family from Ernő Vilcsek while he was in a labour camp in Hungary. Collection also consists of artworks, several on the theme of the Holocaust, created by Eva Kero after her immigration to Vancouver, BC.
